The Family
Rabbi Jonathon Sacks, who was chief
Rabbi of Great Britain, spoke in the
Vatican recently on Marriage. One quote:
The family - man, woman and child is the
best means we have yet discovered for
nurturing the future generations of
mankind.
Pope Francis said: The values and virtues
of the family, its essential truths , are points
of strength on which to build the nuclear
family and are not up for discussion!!

Martin Raines aged 54
Visit of our new Bishop
John Arnold.
Deepest sympathy to his brother Steve
Raines who looks after all our computer
and technical equipment.
As promised, he intends to visit Priests
individually in their own homes. He came
to see me last Monday for two hours. He
was impressed with the Church, the Parish
Centre and the Presbytery – how neat, tidy
and well kept it all was, including the
grounds. He enquired about the
Sacramental Programme, asked about
Confirmation being for children when they
are at High School – possibly in Year 8, as
he would like to Confirm the children.
He asked about you, what help the laity
were in the running of the Parish and he
was pleased with what he heard. It was as
thorough as any Ofsted Inspection, e.g.
Choir, Altar Servers, Finance, Adult
Formation, the Liturgy, our School.
