“PREPARE THE WAY OF THE LORD”
Please consider reviewing next Sunday’s
readings which are:
Job 7: 1-4, 6-7
“ My life is like the wind.”
1 Corinthians 9: 16-19, 22-23
“ Woe to me if I do not preach the
Gospel.”
Mark 1: 29-39
“ I have come to preach Good News.”

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?
“Are you looking for a way to give a little bit of your
time to your parish, not too big of a commitment yet
something you can feel good about doing?” Why not
consider giving a half hour before and after Mass on one
weekend per month to help in the St. Malachy Gift
Shop? Just come a little early for your weekend Mass
and be in the gift shop until Mass starts, attend Mass,
and then come back to the Gift Shop for about ½ hour
after Mass. That’s not too hard or too much time, but a
BIG help for the Gift Shop. To give it a try, call Julie
Bauman, 944-8110 or Joyce Maher, 944-6238. This
might just be what you are looking for to give a little of
your time to your parish. We could really use your
help. Thank you so much!

NAMI Family-to-Family
NAMI Family-to-Family is a free, 12-session
education program for family members of
adults living with mental illness. It will start
Feb. 10, from 6:00-8:30pm here at St. Malachy.
The course is designed to help all family
members understand & support their loved one
with mental illness while maintaining their own
well-being. The course includes information on
illnesses such as schizophrenia, bipolar
disorder, major depression and others. This
NAMI Family-to-Family will be taught by
Robert O’Rourke & Cathie Stinson who know
what it is like to have a loved one with mental
illness. The course will be held here at St.
Malachy’s. Call the NAMI office to register:
563-322-8870.
“One need not be super intelligent or super
anything to serve the Lord. All you have to be
is just a simple believing child of God and
willingly happy to help spread His mission on earth.”
Two special ways to volunteer are:
1) Altar & Rosary has formed a small committee of
volunteers to launder purificators and altar linens. We
would like to add more people.
2) A Chairperson is needed to head the 3 Funeral
Committees. She/he would be the contact person for
Fr. Mike and the Funeral Home. Co-chairs are also
needed for 2 of our 3 Funeral Committees. A
co-chairperson gives a helpful hand and makes the
job easier. Please volunteer and give of your time &
talent to serve the Lord in this way.
Please contact Darlene Gramling, 441-5145.
