The BISON Childr en’s Scholar ship Fund, a privately funded tuition assistance program for children in grades k-8, has scholarships available for the 2015-16 school year. This collection suppor ts Catholic organizations that provide affordable shelter and train seminarians in a region that still struggles from the effects of Soviet rule. Lighting votive candles: The new votive candles may be lit to demonstrate the intention of a person's prayer. The continually burning flame symbolizes the ongoing nature of the prayer even after the person who lit the candle has left the church. Candles may be lit for loved ones who have died, in gratitude, supplication or any other intention. A donation of $3.00 is requested to offset the cost of the candles.
