Administrator’s Corner Second Sunday in Ordinary Time, January 17, 2016 Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Paving the Way with Love! St. Cecilia Church and School are excited to announce our newest project, Paving the Way with Love, to replace our old parking lot with new, fresh and dark asphalt. It is thanks to your support, parishioners and school families, that this parking lot project is taking place. It is our shared hope that this new pavement will provide a safer play area for our children and a steadier walkway for all. As this project is a community effort, we are each called to be flexible as this project moves through its various phases of progress. Every effort will be made to give progress updates and announce traffic changes in advance; however, as people of faith we understand that things cannot always be guaranteed and we must be open to the perfect ways of God and the less than perfect efforts of man to move forward in the face of unforeseen challenges. Thank you in advance for your patience with changing traffic patterns and directives. We lovingly encourage you to allow extra time for parking before and after Mass in case of any necessary changes. Another improvement that Paving the Way with Love brings to the campus is a gate and fence enclosing the school grounds. This will bring added safety and security for our students during school hours. After school hours, the gate will remain open to allow the normal operations of the parish to continue without interruption. The project will begin tomorrow and complete in the end of next month. Once again, together with Fr. Wayne, Fr. Agustin, Mrs. Alvarado, Staff and Faculty, we are very grateful to each and every one of you for your constant prayers and loving supports for our St. Cecilia. May God reward and bless you and your family abundantly. From today’s Gospel, let us invite Jesus and Mary to remain with us in our home. St. John Mary Vianney suggested this as a solution for many of our family problems. He used to encourage parents to create an atmosphere of prayer, Bible reading, mutual love and respect and sacrificial service at home so that the presence of Jesus and Mary might be perpetually enhanced and experienced in the family. May we expect and appreciate the miracles of God’s providence in our lives. Fr. Bao EXTRAORDINARY JUBILEE YEAR OF MERCY www.rcbo.org/year-of-mercy/ or www.im.va/content/gdm/en.html Message of His Holiness Pope Francis for the Celebration of the XLIX World Day Of Peace - 1 January 2016 Continuation from last week… [3] Indifference is not something new; every period of history has known people who close their hearts to the needs of others, who close their eyes to what is happening around them, who turn aside to avoid encountering other people’s problems. But in our day, indifference has ceased to be a purely personal matter and has taken on broader dimensions, producing a certain “globalization of indifference”. The first kind of indifference in human society is indifference to God, which then leads to indifference to one’s neighbor and to the environment. This is one of the grave consequences of a false humanism and practical materialism allied to relativism and nihilism. We have come to think that we are the source and creator of ourselves, our lives and society. We feel self-sufficient, prepared not only to find a substitute for God but to do completely without him. As a consequence, we feel that we owe nothing to anyone but ourselves, and we claim only rights. Continuation next week... Thanks to our Advertisers! (Lc, 15, 32).
