Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ!
October is the Month of the Holy Rosary. The Church invites her members to gather and recite the Holy Rosary to honor
our Mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary. Throughout the centuries, the Church has been protected through Mother Mary’s intercession. I personally invite all ministry groups and families to spend time together as much as you can to recite Hail Mary
prayers. October is also Respect Life Month. Each of us is created by God’s love and in His own image, and each of us is
unique. God is indeed the author of our life. Life is not to be destroyed by abortion or assisted suicide or any other means. To
help our diocesan Respect Life Collection through Pennies from Heaven Program, please collect all kinds of coins at your
home and donate them to the diocese, so we can help the life crisis shelters throughout our diocese. On behalf of the diocese,
we will receive your coins by the end of October.
Parish Pastoral Council. I am grateful to all seven candidates willing to have their names on the final ballot, and to all parishioners taking their time to vote and to pray for the success of the election. This past Tuesday – one newly appointed and four
elected members together with returning ones and I had a very positive and informative first Parish Pastoral Council meeting
of this fiscal year with promising visions for our parish in the five-year plan. Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, October
20. Please check our website stcecilia.org for the complete list of all members. Please continue to say a prayer for us to fulfill
our calls well.
Today’s Readings are about the bond of love that marriage creates between a man and a woman, a bond that God wishes to
be permanent. These readings challenge the spouses to practice the fidelity of their ever-faithful God, honoring their holy
covenant commitment. Marriage is a union based on committed sharing, sacrificial forgiving, and agape love. It requires mutual adjustments, generosity, good will to forgive and to ask for forgiveness, sincere cooperation in training children and raising them as practicing Catholics, daily strength from God obtained through personal and family prayers, and punctual participation in the parish liturgy. Pope Francis in his recent messages says that “the family is a factory of hope, of life, of resurrection. God is the one who opens that path.”

“Teens and Topics” meets the 1st and 3rd Wednesday, from 7 - 8:30 pm in the Kuper Center.
TNT is designed for High School students to have a
chance to go deeper into issues that face teens today, and
what it looks like to be a man or woman of faith in today’s society. Led by 4:12 Leaders, and in the comfortable environment of the Kuper Center, it’s a chance for
the strong Youth of 4:12 to build community and minister
to each other. All High School students are welcome, and
all Confirmation candidates are required to attend at least
one meeting throughout the school year.
“Teen Scripture Study” will be new this
year!! Meeting the 2nd and 4th Wednesday, from 7
- 8:30 pm in the Kuper Center.
For those who wish to take the next step towards understanding how the Living Word of God speaks to each of
us, exactly where we are right now, and share in fellowship and worship with other teens, this is the place for
you! Led by Director Tim Reid, with the help of the 4:12
Leadership, this should be a wonderful addition to the
Ministry this year. All High School students are welcome, and all Confirmation candidates are required to
attend at least one meeting.

Đoàn Thiếu Nhi Thánh Thể xin nhận ống lon, chai
bia, nuớc ngọt vào các Thánh Lễ chiều thứ Bẩy để
gây quỹ sinh hoạt cho Đoàn. Chúng con sẽ có xe
truck đậu ở bãi đậu xe gần tháp chuông Nhà Thờ. Vì
phương tiện vận chuyển có giới hạn, cho nên chúng
con không lấy bình sữa, chai nuớc mắm và các chai
ruợu lớn. Xin cám ơn.
Để buổi lễ được giữ phần trang nghiêm, xin quí vị
phụ huynh vui lòng để ý và gìn giữ các con em nhỏ
của mình và cũng xin quý phụ huynh nhắc nhở các
em nhỏ đừng chạy nhảy hoặc la hét lớn tiếng trong
