On the 22nd of each month we
gather in prayer and praise before
the Blessed Sacrament praying for
an increase in vocations. If the
22nd of the month falls on Saturday
or Sunday, Adoration will be held
on the following Monday. Adoration
is also every Saturday, 3:30pm to
5:00pm.

Another Advent has begun! Let us
make this Advent a really special
time of joyful preparation for the
coming of Jesus into our hearts and souls. Tuesday is
the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception and
begins the Jubilee Year of Mercy. Love and Mercy is
the reason Jesus came into our world.
Do we really appreciate the sacrifice that meant: that
Jesus, Son of God, became man to show us the
Father’s Love and Mercy? Let us pause each day and
give thanks in preparation for Jesus, the Gift from our
Father. Let us ask Him to send us the Holy Spirit that
we might ask for Mercy (especially by receiving the
Sacrament of Reconciliation) and that we might show
mercy to one another.
Let us continue our Advent journey!

This Tuesday, the Solemnity of the
Immaculate Conception, Pope Francis
will open the “Holy Door” in Saint
Peter’s Basilica, symbolically opening
the Jubilee Year of Mercy. In today’s
scriptures, Baruch confidently
anticipates God’s healing of the brokenness of
humanity, and Paul sees God bringing our discernment,
knowledge, and love to fulfillment. Our experience of
life and of ourselves can make such prophecies seem
wildly optimistic, even hopelessly naïve. Pope Francis
challenges us to live this Jubilee Year as a graced time,
when God’s mercy reawakens our enthusiasm to live
our baptismal call as gospel people, our hope renewed
and ourselves recommitted to selfless charity. Notice
that in Luke’s Gospel today, God bypasses the
religious elite and politically powerful to speak to a
humble believer in the barren desert the saving word
that will transform history. So God’s mercy continues
to accomplish humanity’s salvation in and through
ordinary, flawed, and least likely instruments—even

ADULT CONFIRMATION CLASSES
REGISTRATION OPEN NOW UNTIL
JANUARY 11, 2016
Adult Confirmation classes are for Catholics who
have not had the opportunity to receive the
sacrament of Confirmation in order to complete
their full initiation into the Catholic Church. This
fifteen-week process emphasizes the basics of
Catholic teaching respecting the adult audience’s
many concerns, questions and responsibilities.
English classes will begin on January 11, 2016
and will be held on Sundays from 9am-10:30am

TREASURES FROM OUR TRADITION
By now, trees are beginning to appear in living rooms
throughout the parish. To a complete outsider to our culture,
it must seem an odd thing indeed. The “roots” of this custom
are in liturgical drama: religious plays performed in the
churches and town squares of medieval Europe. The favorite
theme for this time of year was the “Paradise Play,” a
dramatic history of the human race from the Garden of Eden
to the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem. The language and music
varied from place to place, but one feature was always in
place: a great tree decorated with apples. As a prop, it
provided lots of material for the actors: the temptation,
shelter for the manger, and a reminder of the wood of the
cross. Soon people began to bring “paradise trees” into their
homes, decorating them with gifts and lighted candles.
Many Germans give credit to Martin Luther for
transforming the “Paradise Tree” into the evergreen
Christmas tree. Walking home on a starry Advent night, he
was so awed by the beauty of the night that he hauled a pine
tree inside and decorated it with lighted candles. Americans
were holdouts. It took until 1856 for the Commonwealth of
Massachusetts to decriminalize Christmas decorations, the
old Puritan dislikes falling before the waves of Irish and
German immigrants with traditions firmly in hand!

Misión Parroquial
La comunidad Católica de San Policarpo es bendecida con muchas culturas y ministerios vibrantes que ofrecen un

BAUTISMOS PASOS :
Papás y padrinos, deberan asistír el primer Domingo del mes a las 10:00 am para registrar a su
hijo(a) y al mísmo tiempo para tomar la clase
requerida.
Padres: Traer una copia del certificado de
nacimiento de su hijo(a). No traiga el original.
Padrinos: Traer una copia del acta de matrimonio
de la Iglesia donde se casaron.
 El Segundo Domingo de Cada mes es la
Ceremonia del Bautísmo a las 2:00 pm.
 Habra una segunda platica el Viernes despues
del Bautizo a las 7:00pm.
Costo $50 por niño; $25 si solamente toma la
plática


Que el niño sea menor de 5 años
Que los padrinos sean Casados por la Iglesia o
solteros pero sin vivír en unión libre ninguno.
Que asistan a la entrevista y a la Plática tanto

Queridos hermanos y hermanas
en Cristo,
Ha comenzado el tiempo de
Adviento! Hagamos de este algo
especial, una época de gozo y de preparaci6n
para la venida de Jesús en nuestros corazones y
almas. El martes es el día solemne de la
Inmaculada Concepción, y comienza el ario
jubiloso de la misericordia. Amor y misericordia
son las razones por las cuales Jesús vino a este
mundo. De verdad apreciamos el sacrificio que
El hizo, ya que siendo el Hijo de Dios se hizo
hombre y nos mostró el amor y la misericordia
de Dios?
Hagamos una pausa cada día para agradecer a
Jesús y para prepararnos para El, quien es el
regale de parte de nuestro Padre. Pidámosle
nos envié al Espíritu Santo, y pidámosle de
su misericordia (especialmente al recibir el
sacramento de reconciliaci6n) y para que
seamos misericordiosos los unos a los otros.

SOLICITUDES PARA
LAS CANASTAS NAVIDEÑAS!
Las Solicitudes para las canastas Navideñas estarán
disponibles en el Centro de Apoyo Familiar o en la
oficina parroquial empezando el lunes 30 de
noviembre del 2015 y terminando el lunes 14 de
diciembre del 2015. Las solicitudes se estarán
aceptando en el Centro de Apoyo Familiar los lunes y
miércoles de 9:30am a 12:00pm. Las solicitudes
también se estarán aceptando en la oficina de la
parroquial, solamente de 10:30am a 5:30pm. Aviso:
Cada solicitante deberá proveer dos formas de
identificaci6n: foto y identificación residencia..
Las canastas se distribuirán el sábado 19 de
diciembre empezando a las 11:00am y terminando a
las 1:00pm.

SỨ MẠNG CỦA GIÁO XỨ.
Giáo xứ Thánh Polycarp may mắn có nhiều nền văn hóa và sự sống động của các chương trình mục vụ khác nhau
của các cộng đồng giáo dân, điều này đem đến một làn gió thánh thiện chào đón mọi người, đặc biệt là giới trẻ, là
những người mong muốn có một đời sống đạo sâu xa hơn với Chúa Giêsu Kitô. Như là những môn đệ của Chúa,
chúng ta giúp cho những người nghèo đói, đây là cuộc hành trình đức tin dành cho các anh chị em chúng ta trên
con đường sống đạo mới với niềm hy vọng và lòng can đảm, trong một công việc bác ái an toàn và vui vẻ.
THÔNG BÁO CỘNG ĐOÀN.
1- Giờ chầu Thánh Thể thinh lặng.- Xin Cộng đoàn Dân
Chúa lưu ý: Giáo xứ có giờ chầu Thánh Thể thinh lặng từ
3giờ30 đến 5giờ chiều vào mỗi chiều Thứ Bảy. Xin kính mời
Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa cùng đến tham dự giờ chầu vào mỗi
cuối tuần.
2- Thực hiện Máng Cỏ ngoài trời.- Cũng như mọi năm, để
sửa soạn cho ngày đại lễ Mừnh Chúa Giáng Sinh, Công đoàn
sẽ thực hiện Máng Cỏ ngoài trời tại cuối Thánh đường Giáo
xứ vào lúc 8giờ sáng Thứ Bảy ngày 5 tháng 12 năm 2015.
Công tác cần nhiều người phụ giúp. Xin Cộng đoàn Dân
Chúa tiếp tay thực hiện.
3- Đoàn Thiếu Nhi Thánh Thể sinh hoạt trở lại.- Đoàn
Thiếu Nhi Thánh Thể của Cộng đoàn sẽ sinh hoạt trở lại vào
ngày Chúa Nhật 6 tháng 12 năm 2015. Xin quí phụ huynh
đưa con em đến sinh hoạt.
4- Đoàn Liên Minh Thánh Tâm và Hội Các Bà Mẹ Công
Giáo sinh hoạt.- Đoàn Liên Minh Thánh Tâm và Hội Các Bà
Mẹ Công Giáo của Cộng đoàn sẽ có buổi sinh hoạt hằng
tháng vào lúc 2giờ chiều Chúa Nhật ngày 6 tháng 12 năm
2015 tại phòng họp thường lệ. Kính mời quí Đoàn viên và
Hội viên đến tham dự đông đủ.
5- Lễ Đức Mẹ Vô Nhiễm.- Thứ Ba ngày 8 tháng 12 năm
2015 là ngày Lễ Đức Mẹ Vô Nhiễm Nguyên Tội (bổn mạng
Giáo hội Hoa Kỷ). Lễ trọng và buộc. Giáo xứ có 2 lễ tiếng
Việt: Lễ Vọng lúc 8giờ tối Thứ Hai ngày 7 tháng 12 năm
2015 và lễ chính ngày vào lúc 8giờ tối Thứ Ba ngày 8 tháng
12 năm 2015. Xin Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa sắp xếp thời gian
tham dự. Xin coi trong phần tiếng anh để biết các giờ lễ của
các sắc dân trong Giáo xứ.
6- Buổi sinh hoạt của Liên Nhóm Cursillo.- Liên Nhóm
Cursillo của Cộng đoàn có bưổi sinh hoạt hằng tháng vào lúc
2giờ30 chiều Chúa Nhật ngày 13 tháng 12 năm 2015 tại
phòng họp thường lệ. Kính mời quí anh chị Cursillistas tham
dự.
7- Giải tôi Mùa Vọng của Giáo xứ.- Giáo xứ có buổi hòa
giải chung cho các sắc dân trong Giáo xứ vào lúc 7giờ tối
Thứ Ba ngày 15 tháng 12 năm 2015. Xin Cộng đoàn Dân
Chúa sắp xếp thời gian cùng đến xưng tội để hòa giải cùng
Chúa và với anh chị em hầu cùng nhau đón mừng Chúa
Giáng Sinh.
8- Tĩnh tâm Mùa Vọng của Cộng đoàn.- Để giúp Cộng đoàn
Dân Chúa sửa soạn tâm hồn đón nhận hồng ân Thiên Chúa
qua Mùa Vọng và Mùa Giáng Sinh năm 2015, Công đoàn
sẽ tổ chức hai buổi tĩnh tâm vào các ngày Thứ Năm ngày 17
và Thứ Sáu ngày 18 tháng 12 năm 2015 tại Thánh đường
Giáo xứ. Hướng dẫn và thuyết giảng tĩnh tâm sẽ do Linh
mục Phạm Sĩ Hanh, Đan Viện Xitô Thánh Giuse phụ trách
với chủ đề Lòng Chúa Thương Xót. Chương trình mỗi tối
gồm: 6giờ30, Thánh lễ. 7giờ đến 8giờ30, thuyết giảng. Kính
mời Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa xa gần sắp sếp thời gian cùng
đến tham dự.
9- Rửa Tội bằng tiếng Việt cho các em nhỏ.- Giáo xứ sẽ
Rửa Tội bằng tiếng Việt cho các em nhỏ trong Giáo xứ vào
lúc 2giờ30 trưa Chúa Nhật ngày 27 tháng 12 năm 2015.
Lớp hướng dẫn cho Cha Mẹ và người Đỡ Đầu từ 7 đến
9giờ tối Thứ Ba ngày 22 tháng 12 năm 2015 tại phòng
sinh hoạt trước đài Đức Mẹ. Xin cha mẹ và người đỡ đầu
có mặt đầy đủ và đúng giờ.
10- Thực hiện tập kỷ yếu cho dịp Lễ Ngân Khánh của
Cộng đoàn.- Để chuẩn bị cho dịp mừng Ngân Khánh ngày
thành lập vào tháng 10 năm 2016 sắp tới, Cộng đoàn sẽ
thực hiện một cuốn Kỷ Yếu để giới thiệu về quá trình hình
thành, xây dựng, phát triển trong 25 năm qua và hướng tới
tương lai của Cộng đoàn. Kỷ yếu cũng ghi lại những kỷ
niệm, tâm tư, tình cảm của quí Cha, quí Tu sĩ nam nữ và các
thành phần Dân Chúa đã và đang sinh hoạt trong Cộng
đoàn. Kính xin quí Cha, quí Tu sĩ nam nữ, các Đoàn thể Ban ngành và Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa đã và đang sinh hoạt
trong Cộng đoàn tiếp tay đóng góp bài vở, hình ảnh và tư
liệu, hầu cuốn Kỷ yếu có thể phản ảnh được hết mọi sinh
hoạt, có nội dung phong phú, trở thành tài liệu lưu lại dấu
ấn đẹp cho mọi người. Mọi bài vở và ý kiến đóng góp xin

11- Cộng đoàn lần chuỗi Lòng Chúa Thương Xót.- Để
đáp lại Mạc Khải Lòng Chúa Thương Xót, Cộng đoàn tổ
chức lần chuỗi Lòng Chúa Thương Xót vào lúc 3 giờ chiều
mỗi ngày, kể cả Thứ Bảy và Chúa Nhật. Chương trình được
tóm gọn trong 30 phút gồm nghe đọc Phúc Âm theo năm
Phụng Vụ và phần suy niệm về bài Phúc Âm trước khi lần
chuỗi. Ngoài ra, trong giờ lần chuỗi chiều Thứ Sáu đầu
Tháng có mở cửa Nhà Tạm chầu Thánh Thể và Khấn Lòng
Chúa Thương Xót. Các ngày Thứ Sáu trong tháng có khấn
Lòng Chúa Thương Xót. Các ngày trong tuần, bất cứ ai có
nhu cầu xin cầu nguyện khẩn thiết đặc biệt, xin điện thoại
về số (714) 539-4954 và để lại lời nhắn. Rất nhiều người
xin đã được ơn như ý hoặc các ơn lành khác. Kính mời
Cộng đoàn xa gần cùng đến tham dự.

quý mà Đức Chúa Cha thương ban. Chúng ta hãy nguyện cầu
xin Ngài gửi Chúa Thánh Thần đến đó là lời chúng ta van xin
Lòng Thương Xót Chúa (đặc biệt qua lãnh nhận Bí Tích Hòa
Giải) và chúng ta bày tỏ lòng nhân từ với nhau.
