Stewardship in Action:
That as steward disciples, we stand ready to
accept, share and cultivate our gifts for service
to all our neighbors in the wider community, we
pray to the Lord…
Stewardship Reflection:
In today’s first reading, we hear Samuel respond
eagerly, “Here I am!” each time the Lord calls
him. May we, too, be listening for the call of
God in our lives and be ready to say like the
Psalmist, “Here am I, Lord; I come to do your
will.”
Living Stewardship:
We are grateful this week for all stewards in
our parish who answer their call to service by
assisting Catholic Charities” Housing Program
to ensure the physical, social and spiritual wellbeing of residents through access to safe and
affordable facilities.
Stewardship of Collections:
Our thanks and gratitude for your sacrificial
giving each week.
ENVIRONMENTAL LITURGY COMMITTEE
Thank you to our Environmental Liturgy
Committee for their “behind the scenes” work all
year long, especially at Christmas. Hanging the
wreaths and roping, setting up trees and
poinsettias, and then taking it all down when the
Christmas season is over, is a huge task. They do
it joyfully and well (!) as is evident by how
beautiful our Church looked:
Anna Maria& Leroy Bombardiere, Bob Bange,
Peg Bauer, Joanne Bilella, Mary Brenner,
Dorothy & Bob Brochon, Pat Cahill, Elaine
Carey, Sal Camardella, Ryan Diviney, Jerry
Ferrari, Corine Granato, Joanne Holmes, Florence
& Al Johnson, John Leo, Carol Milliken, Jerry
Poller, Rocco Schiavone, Ben Shepherd, Gail
Solimeno, Ed Vasta, Pete Shepherd and our maintenance staff, co-chairs, Rosalind Johnson and Sue
Lim, and the many unknown parishioners who, on
their own, swept up the messy, dropped flowers to
help keep our Church clean. A special thank you
to Sam Crocco who prepared a delicious luncheon
for us.
New ministers are always needed and no
decorating experience is necessary, just a
willingness to help. We will soon be setting up
the Church environment for Lent, and before we
know it, Easter! If you’d like to join our
committee, please call or email Gene Poller at the
rectory.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS 631-271-6081
Is God calling you to be a catechist? This is the perfect time to answer His call. While
classes are still in session we can show you exactly what the commitment entails.
This year we have over 720 children enrolled in our Religious Education Program, which
would not run without the commitment and dedication of our catechists who volunteer their
time and share their faith with the children.
If you accept and live the Gospel and the teachings of the Church, try to grow in your personal
spiritual formation and have a deep love for God, you would make a great catechist!
Is God calling you to be a catechist? Please call our office for more information.

RIGHT TO LIFE
HEALING THE PAIN OF ABORTION - ONE WEEKEND AT A TIME
Rachel's Vineyard is a safe place to renew, rebuild & redeem hearts broken by abortion. Weekend retreats offer you a supportive, confidential & non-judgmental environment where women & women can express, release & reconcile painful post-abortive emotions to begin the process of restoration, renewal & healing.
Rachel's Vineyard can help you find your inner voice. It can help you experience God's love & compassion
on a profound level. It creates a place where men & women can share, often for the first time, their deepest
feelings about abortion. You are allowed to dismantle troubling secrets in an environment of emotional &
spiritual safety.
Rachel's Vineyard is therapy for the soul. Participants, who have been trapped in anger toward themselves or
others, experience forgiveness. Peace is found. Lives are restored. A sense of hope & meaning for the future
is finally re-discovered.
Next weekend retreat is Friday, 2/6-Sunday, 2/8 Huntington. For more information or to register contact Deacon Joe at 516-445-3927 or email to [email protected]
