He talks of troubled days and restless nights. But he does mention that the days move along swiftly, which can remind us that our me here on earth is quite limited and should be well spent. Second Reading: 1 Corinthians 9:16-19, 22-23 Paul explains to the Corinthians that he has no choice, but must preach the gospel. He tells of making himself all things to all people, in order to save some of them. He reminds them that he does this willingly, in the hope of sharing in the blessings of the gospel. Gospel: Mark 1:29-39 Jesus cured Simon and Andrew’s mother of a fever, then others with illnesses or demons came to see him. He cured those who were ill, and cast out the demons of the others. Then he went off and prayed alone until his followers sought him out. Jesus and his disciples then moved on to other villages to proclaim the good news. HOUSE OF CHARITY BISHOP'S ANNUAL APPEAL To enable the Diocese of Camden to meet the Pastoral challenges, our parish presses on with the 2015 House of Charity/Annual Bishop’s Appeal. Our parish goal is $55,660 of which we have already raised $7,155 or 11%. The amount raised represents a high degree of generosity by only 11 donors. The average gift to date is $650.46. The House of Charity/Annual Bishop’s Appeal support: Social & Community Services, Evangelization and Outreach, Health Services, Care and Education of Seminarians, Needy Parishes, St. Pius X Retreat House, Youth Ministry, Campus Ministry, Nazareth House, Bishop’s Foundation and Support of the Local Parish. The Appeal continues to incorporate a parish-sharing formula to help parishes meet their own financial needs. Once a parish achieves its goal in paid pledges and cash, the parish will receive back 10% of the goal amount. I am asking that our parishioners read the letters carefully and prayerfully consider a sacrificial gift according to their means and within the recommended time frames that are suggested. Thank you for your sacrifices! May God reward you a hundred – fold! Marczyk Foundation to Honor Mathis and Emmanuel The Stanley W.
