All we have is a gift from God, so we must be willing to give up some things so that we can share our blessings as God intended. Pope Francis says, “Charity is born of the call of a God who continues to knock on our doors, the door of all people, to invite us to love, to compassion, to service of one another … Jesus keeps knocking on our doors, the doors of our lives. He doesn’t do this by magic, with special effects, with flashing lights and fireworks. Jesus keeps knocking on our door in the faces of our brothers and sisters, in the faces of our neighbors, in the faces of those at our side.” The 2017 Archbishop’s Charity and Development Drive, the ABCD, will be held on the weekend of January 21st-22nd. This is our opportunity to unite together as one Catholic family, to answer the Jesus’ call to help our brothers and sisters in need. In these next two weeks, please take the time to prayerfully reflect on the gifts that you have been given by God and respond to the ABCD as generously as you possibly can. Your participation is essential to continue to build the Kingdom of God here in South Florida. Page Five All volunteers must take the VIRTUS class.
