The Beauty of life,
There is no doubt that Half Moon Bay is a beautiful place in
which to live. The people are great. Every time I drive to Pescadero I really enjoy the beauty of the landscape on one side
on the road and the ocean on the other. I am struck by the
need for beauty deep within our hearts as we search for fulfillment. Only beauty can make these things and perfect our
humanity. These days of the Season of Lent we reflect deeply
on the Humanity of Jesus. St. Augustine spoke of a passion
for the beauty of God, but our hearts also search passionately
for beauty within our hearts and the world. We all look for
beautiful persons, places and things. We like to enjoy them.
However, the beauty of our God is so amazing; He promised
us His mercy and kindness. St. Paul writes so simply to give
us a glimpse of it when he says, “Eye has not seen, nor has
ear heard, nor has it entered into the mind of a man to imagine what God has stored up for those who love
Him.” (1COR:2:9). Then we can join St. Augustine and say,
“Late have I loved you, O Beauty ever ancient and ever new,
late have I loved YOU.”
La belleza de la vida,
No hay duda de que Half Moon Bay es un hermoso lugar para
vivir. La gente es buena. Cada vez que voy a Pescadero yo
realmente disfruto de la belleza a un lado de la carretera hay
paisajes y otro lado el oceano. Me llama la atención la necesidad de la belleza de nuestros corazones y en la búsqueda de
plenitud. Sólo la belleza puede hacer estas cosa perfectas para
nuestra humanidad. En estos días de la temporada de Cuaresma nos reflejan profundamente en la humanidad de Jesús.
San Agustín habla de la pasión por la belleza de Dios, pero
nuestros corazones también buscan con pasión la belleza dentro de nuestros corazones y el mundo. Todos buscamos bellas
personas, lugares y cosas. Nos gusta disfrutar de ellos. Sin
embargo, la belleza de nuestro Dios es tan increíble; Él nos
prometió su misericordia y bondad. San Pablo escribe tan
sólo para darnos una idea de que cuando dice: "Cosas que ojo
no vio, ni oído oyó, ni ha entrado en la mente de un hombre
de imaginar lo que Dios ha guardado para los que le aman .
"(1Co 2: 9). Entonces podemos unir San Agustín y decir:
"Tarde te amé, oh Belleza siempre antigua y siempre nueva,
ultimanente te amé.”
