Larry Pichard, Pastor Visiones del Pbro. Larry Pichard, Párroco Deacon Carl Macero died January 4, the Feast of the Epiphany, the day the Wise Men encountered the child Jesus. That’s the day we believe that Deacon Carl encountered the Risen Jesus and was welcomed to heaven. He had served us here at St. Francis so faithfully for ten years. Recently I met with his wife Barbara, and she asked me to reproduce her note addressed to the “Dear Community of St. Francis.” Lo que sigue es el contenido de la nota: “My family and I wish to express our sincere gratitude for you. Carl loved you. And we want to thank you for your outpouring of love and support you gave to him during his illness and at the beautiful liturgies. This became a source of grace and comfort for us. In Christ’s love and peace, Barbara, Carl Jr, and Pattie.” We thank Barbara and her son and daughter for sharing Deacon Carl with us. The time he spent with us was time he didn’t spend with his family. He sacrificed time away from his family to be with us at Mass and baptisms every weekend, and we appreciate the sacrifice of Deacon Carl and his family. Our lives are richer because of the homilies he preached with such passion and because of his example of humble service.
