We joyfully respond to our personal conversion and the call of the Holy Spirit by reflecting the love of the Father through evangelization and service. View from Fr. Larry Pichard, Pastor Fr. Ivan will be on his Easter break and some vacation days this Monday through Saturday. Next Saturday we will be celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation for about 300 eighth grade students in special Masses at 10:00 am, 1:30 pm, and 7:30 pm. Then, on May 2 about 70 will be confirmed at the special 1:30 pm Mass. Please pray for our young people so that the Holy Spirit will give them the wisdom and strength needed to be active disciples of Jesus. Just a little reminder: as our diocese celebrates the 125th anniversary of our founding, Bishop Farrell is asking all parishes to support a Capital Campaign to raise $125 million. The campaign is called “Our Faith… Our Future,” and this is the first time that we as a diocese have done anything like this. Three blocks of parishes and Bishop Farrell himself have already raised $94 million! We, as members of the fourth block, are now taking our turn. Our parish goal is $1,995,000. By the way, each parish can keep 30% of that goal and the diocese keeps 70%. Once we reach our goal, then the parish keeps 70% of anything surpassing the goal. As a parish we have decided to put our earnings toward helping pay off the mortgage of $7,621,671.69 for our Church and Chapel so that we can start as fast as possible to build more classrooms and meeting spaces that we desperately need. So, please be ready to offer a generous, sacrificial pledge so that we can help the diocese and help ourselves. Our own parish Capital Campaign Committee will be contacting a number of parishioners personally, and then later we will have inpew pledging.
