Principal Sister Ellen Giardino, I.H.M. Tuition & Notary Public Mrs. Sandy Zaleski, ext. 404 Psalm 128 My Dear People, Mis Queridos Feligreses, At this time the Church calls our attention to the importance of support for vocations to the priesthood. I am sure you are aware that we have many fewer priests now than we had even a few years ago. It has always been my conviction that the basis for a particular call to the priesthood, diaconate, or religious life flows out of an eager embrace of the vocation that is rooted in the Sacraments of Initiation. Baptism calls us to know and love God; Confirmation calls us to serve the Church and the world by the power of the Holy Spirit; Eucharist calls us to conscious communion with God and all He loves. As you and I live out our vocations with joy and fidelity, we will naturally attract others to do the same. Of course, the reverse is also true. There is nothing more discouraging than a sullen saint, a disciple without discipline, or a Christian who does not know and love Christ above all other loves. Fr. Our Second Graders helped us become more aware of the goodness of the Saints on Thursday, October 30th with a special Prayer Service in Church. During the Service, each student spoke briefly about either his or her patron saint or a special saint that they look up to or have devotion to. With the help of the Eighth Graders, the students drew and colored their “poster-sized” saint and held each up for all to see as they spoke about them. We are grateful to Mr. Ibarra and Ms. Tieri – and the Second Graders – for helping us come to know more about the Saints! On November 5th, the fourth floor came alive with the presence of many “living saints.” Thanks to our Eighth Graders and a great Religion Project, each student researched the life of a saint, wore a costume of that saint during the day, and presented a little of that saint’s life to the various classes that came to the “Living Wax Museum" of Saints. Students (and faculty!), small and tall, delighted in pressing the “button” that brought the saint to life…and listened to their story. A great reminder of the gift of Faith given to all of us! Our Thanks… to all who attended our school’s recent monthly fundraiser at Burger King! We hope you enjoyed your meal, as well as the friendship of so many SMT patrons! Know how grateful we are for your continued support! DECEASED Please remember the deceased of our parish. May they rest in the peace of Christ.
