2 - February 2015 Colonie Lodge of Elks News February: The end of another Elk Year We are now in the home stretch of another Elk year. February is another busy month at the Lodge. Our Super Bowl party on the first starts the ball rolling. Come and enjoy the food and just have fun even if your favorite team is not playing. Party starts at two and runs to 10 p.m. Cost is just $19 at the door. Tina’s Zumba class is still going strong on Monday nights running from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. New class will be starting soon. Zumba is a great way to work off those holiday pounds. Come have fun. Nominations and election of lodge officers for the year 2015-16 will be held this month. Nominations will be held at the Feb. 3 meeting. No second vote is required to be nominated. Elections will be Feb. 17. Exalted Ruler’s Message Please do your best to attend these important meetings. This is your chance to have a say in how our lodge will be governed. You must be a member in good standing to come to the meeting and vote. On Saturday, Feb. 14, the lodge will be honoring the Ladies Auxiliary Past Presidents and the Lodge Past Exalted Rulers at the Valentine’s Dinner Dance. This year’s music will be provided by Band of Gold. But this year Rene is adding Shopping. Again this year we will have "Hey Jude," a Beatles tribute band. They were really great last year! Join us on the 21st. The District Ritual Competition will be held on Febe 28 at Guilderland Lodge # 2480. Chair Officers are practicing with great enthusiasm with the help of PER Steve Kohler, PDDGER Frank Bauer and PDDGER Donna Bauer to represent our lodge in this competition. We will be performing at noon. Please come and support our Officers and Lodge. Looking ahead to March, the Worker’s Appreciation Day will be on the first. Committee chairpersons, please contact me with the names of who will be attending. Information is on the letter you received. On Saturday, March 7, Guilderland Lodge #2480 will be hosting State Vice President Helen Blais’ Homecoming. Contact Guilderland Lodge at 355-2480. My thanks to Gloria and John Delap along with Bill Sponable, Sue and Harry Loucks, JoAnne Netzer, Mary Ann Soltis, the House Committee and volunteers for a great job on both the Donny “Elvis” Romines and the Laura Roth shows.
