Exalted Ruler’s Message
It is hard to believe but here
we are in February and
what an exciting month we
have coming up. First a little
about this past January.
My congratulations go
out to Bryon Masterson
and his team for another
successful “Beef and Brew”
which I am proud to say
that we host at our lodge. It
is a great cause and really
is the first sign of spring.
(sorry robins!)

Back to February, We will
have nominations in a few
days at our first lodge meeting for new officers. Folks,
this is the life blood of the Order, without which we
do not go forward. If you are being nominated this
year, Congratulations!!, if not, consider next year.
The BPOE will be a better organization with you, I
guarantee it!
I am looking forward to our new lodge year 20152016. It is time for new ideas from all of us. We even
have a new hotel for our Wildwood convention this
year and it looks like a beauty. If you have been to
convention before, you know how much fun and
friendship it is. If you have not, this is your time!
Come on down! Thank you PER George Coyne for
all of your hard work helping us in this endeavor.
This is going to be a benefit for our own PER Pug
Lightbody and Roden Lightbody. For one exciting
night, you will see our main hall turned into a very
slick Casino gambling floor. It will be hosted by
our Partners in this project “ Hometown Heroes”.
They have done this many times before with other
organizations and are very professional. Thank you
goes out to founder Mike, Jessica, Ashley and all of
the great people down there on Washington St.
Looking ahead, we have so much coming up. Next
month is installation of the new Officers and ER,
I will be set out to pasture, our sports banquet,
Mothers Day, etc. and away we will go. Man, how
time flies!!!
Moving right along, last month I selected “All of You”
for my Elk of the Month. I was very happy with that
choice but I am returning to select for Feb. just one
of you. It is always a tough task to single out just
one person but this time it was quite easy. This loyal
Elk is behind the scenes in almost everything we do
here at the lodge and in some cases, is in front of the
scenes, literally! My choice for Elk of the Month for
February is Susan Baita. I am proud to have had her
as my Chaplin for the last year and also as a very
good friend. Well done Susan!!
See you around the Lodge,
Jeffrey Secord

Check your calendars. Later this month, Feb. 21 to
be exact we are having “Casino Night” at our lodge.

VETERAN’S COMMITTEE
During the period of November 11, 2014 and the present, the
committee have reached out to no fewer than 1510 Veterans,
both those that are hospitalized in our nursing homes, and our
active duty Veterans, and not forgetting our Wounded Warriors. We have provided hospital parties, parties for our Active
Duty Military, an Open House for our active duty. We also sent
out Holiday cards, birthday cards and get well cards to all of our
Veterans. Our committee are a very dedicated group, that continue to show their CARING AND SHARING for our Veterans.
injuries. This emotional and moving documentary will show
how one soldier was helped back from the brink, and how he in
turn has helped other wounded warriors. All members of the
Elks are invited to join this viewing.
February is VETERANS REMEMBRANCE MONTH, and we
ask everyone to donate a Valentine card to a Veteran, please
give it to a Veterans Committee member or leave it in the Veterans Committee mailbox. These Valentine cards will be delivered to our hospitalized Veterans and others put in packages
and will be sent to our deployed troops in Afghanistan. You may
have heard the war is over, but there are still thousands of our
young men and women still there in harms way, lets remember
them in February and always.
At our next Veterans Meeting, held on Thursday February 19 at
7:30pm, everyone is invited to join us as we watch at 20 minute video based on CHARIOT RIDERS, a therapeutic program
that pairs Wounded Warriors with rescued horses, and shows
the incredible bond that is formed. Many of these Wounded
Warriors are on the brink of suicide, no doctors or medication
have been able to ease their physical and mental pains. Many
are suffering from terrible injuries, PTSD and traumatic brain

American Maintenance Service - 1/2015
I recently attended a membership meeting at the Trenton
Lodge. It was nice to hear that our lodge is only one of 2
in the District that will end the year with a membership
increase! Our district also has the most members in the
entire State of New Jersey! If you haven’t noticed yet,
we have a great place here, because of all of you. I want
to thank everyone who has proposed new members
this year. It is the life blood of the lodge and the most
enjoyable part of my job.

Shuffleboard League Bulletin News 2015
The Shuffleboard League is scheduled to start Monday night February 23rd at
6:00 pm. Due to overwhelming response and participation last year, we expect Tuesday and Wednesday Nights to fill up similar to last year. Each night during the week, we
will be looking for 10 teams, and teams comprise of male/female teammates. League
fees will be $80/couple, and you may bring a check payable to “TR Elks Lodge #1875”
on the first night. Please put your night and Shuffleboard on your check. Food will be available each night during the
season. Each night will be a separate Division, as we did last year. The League is looking to fill up as many nights that
will allow.
The League will run for 9 weeks, commencing the week of February 23rd, allowing each team in a Division to
play each other. The top 8 Teams in each Division will qualify for a Divisional Playoff on their respective night the
week of April 27th – May1st. The top three place finishers in each Division will qualify to compete in the League Finals on Monday May 4th, 2015. This format is exactly how things ran last year.
A League “Sign-Up Sheet” will be posted on the corkboard near the shuffleboard table. Please visit the lodge
and fill your full names and email addresses on the night you wish to play. The sign-ups will be on a “first comefirst serve” basis for the night you choose until we have 10 teams for each respective night. You may email me at
[email protected] and I can update the sheet at the lodge as well. I will also be starting email updates
in the near future. Please email me at the above address as I have lost everyone’s email addresses from last year.
If you have questions concerning the Shuffleboard League, please contact Scott Golembeski at
[email protected], or 732-814-8000.

BAR
If you participate in any of the above please try and attend. THANKS!!!!!! When I was a boy, I laid in my twin sized bed and wondered
where my brother was.
It’s sad that a family can be torn apart by something as simple
as wild dogs.
I don’t have a girlfriend, but I know a girl that would get really
mad if she heard me say that.
My drug test came back negative. My dealer sure has some
explaining to do.
It became so cold in New York last night that it forced the
flashers to describe themselves to people.
I have a friend. He keeps trying to convince me he’s a
compulsive liar, but I don’t believe him.
I had to stop drinking, cause I got tired of waking up in my
car driving 90 MPH.
The liberals can understand everything but people who
don’t understand them.
Honesty may be the best policy, but it’s important to
remember that apparently, by elimination, dishonesty is the
second-best policy.
I’ve spent the past two years looking for my ex-girlfriend’s
killer… but no one will do it.
My friend’s mom been having a hard time lately. She
just found out that she has to have both of her breasts
removed — if she’s ever going to be good at golf.
My great grandmother threw herself in front of a bus.
The police tried to say she was committed suicide but the
family knew she was just trying to stop civil rights.
You do not need a parachute to skydive. You only need a
parachute to skydive twice.
I’ve got a kid in Africa that I feed, that I clothe, that I
school and that I inoculate for 75 cents a day…which is
practically nothing compared to what it cost to send him
there.
My therapist says I have a preoccupation with vengeance.
We’ll see about that.
Who do you think was smarter, Jesus or Buddha? I mean,
just in terms of not letting themselves get crucified.
When life gives you melons, you might be dyslexic.
When I finished high school I wanted to take all my
graduation money and buy myself a motorcycle. Buy
my mom said no. See, she had a brother who died in a
horrible motorcycle accident when he was 18. And I could
just have his motorcycle.
The problem isn’t that obesity runs in your family. The
problem is no one runs in your family.
I tried to change my password to “penis” but they said it was
too short.
Circumcision is popular because Jewish
girls won’t touch anything that’s not at
least 15% off.
The problem with kleptomaniacs is that
they always take things literally.
It takes a lot of balls to golf the way I do.
I’m mixed race, my Dad likes the 100m
sprint, and my mother’s Italian..
My father is schizophrenia, but he’s good
people.
I have a lot of growing up to do. I realized
that the other day inside my fort.
I am originally from Indiana. I know
what most of you are thinking: Indiana —
mafia.

I know
what most of you are thinking: Indiana —
mafia.

Exalted Ruler’s Message
It is hard to believe but here
we are in February and
what an exciting month we
have coming up. First a little
about this past January.
My congratulations go
out to Bryon Masterson
and his team for another
successful “Beef and Brew”
which I am proud to say
that we host at our lodge. It
is a great cause and really
is the first sign of spring.
(sorry robins!)

Back to February, We will
have nominations in a few
days at our first lodge meeting for new officers. Folks,
this is the life blood of the Order, without which we
do not go forward. If you are being nominated this
year, Congratulations!!, if not, consider next year.
The BPOE will be a better organization with you, I
guarantee it!
I am looking forward to our new lodge year 20152016. It is time for new ideas from all of us. We even
have a new hotel for our Wildwood convention this
year and it looks like a beauty. If you have been to
convention before, you know how much fun and
friendship it is. If you have not, this is your time!
Come on down! Thank you PER George Coyne for
all of your hard work helping us in this endeavor.
This is going to be a benefit for our own PER Pug
Lightbody and Roden Lightbody. For one exciting
night, you will see our main hall turned into a very
slick Casino gambling floor. It will be hosted by
our Partners in this project “ Hometown Heroes”.
They have done this many times before with other
organizations and are very professional. Thank you
goes out to founder Mike, Jessica, Ashley and all of
the great people down there on Washington St.
Looking ahead, we have so much coming up. Next
month is installation of the new Officers and ER,
I will be set out to pasture, our sports banquet,
Mothers Day, etc. and away we will go. Man, how
time flies!!!
Moving right along, last month I selected “All of You”
for my Elk of the Month. I was very happy with that
choice but I am returning to select for Feb. just one
of you. It is always a tough task to single out just
one person but this time it was quite easy. This loyal
Elk is behind the scenes in almost everything we do
here at the lodge and in some cases, is in front of the
scenes, literally! My choice for Elk of the Month for
February is Susan Baita. I am proud to have had her
as my Chaplin for the last year and also as a very
good friend. Well done Susan!!
See you around the Lodge,
Jeffrey Secord
Exalted Ruler
Toms River Elks Lodge #1875
Check your calendars. Later this month, Feb. 21 to
be exact we are having “Casino Night” at our lodge.
