COMMON PRAYER OF CONFESSION . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . UNISON Gracious and holy God, we cry to you to heal our wounds. We call to you in distress because of the ways we have been lost in the darkness of selfishness and pride. The things that we have done against your will and the loving things that we have left undone have turned out to cause pain and grief. Have mercy, O Lord. Take from us the bitterness and burdens of our hearts and let your Spirit abide there. May your steadfast love have its way with us. (Here each worshipper offers silent, personal confession.)
