Feel free to bring a bag lunch. All Congregation members will receive an agenda and information about the issues via e-mail or U.S. mail. Information sessions to prepare for informed voting began in January and continue this month on Sundays at 9:30- 10:30 am in the Common Room. LIVING WAGE CAMPAIGN: A SOCIAL JUSTICE FORUM Sunday, February 8, 9:30 am Jeremiah Tattersall will speak with us about the local campaign for a Living Wage Ordinance for workers employed by Alachua County and the businesses it contracts with. This would set the starting pay at a livable wage as determined by the US Department of Health and Human Services. The rate is currently at $11.47 per hour and would immediately benefit underpaid County workers and have a ripple effect throughout our community with increased spending. UUFG will vote on whether or not to take a stand on February 22. Come to the Common Room on February 8 to learn more so you can make an informed vote. We’re glad you decided to check us out.
