OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE CHURCH
Today,
we celebrate with our
Church throughout the world
the Feast of the
Epiphany. We
are celebrating
Christ becoming
manifest to our
world. Through
the gifts brought
by the three worldly Kings, our world became
aware of the destiny of Jesus Christ. The gift of
gold recognizes Christ is a King. The gift of
frankincense recognizes that He is a prophet.
The gift of myrrh recognizes that He will die as
a priest offering sacrifice for our salvation.
Through your Baptism, you are called to continue to make Christ manifest in our world. We
make Christ known and present in our world
through our gathering and the sharing of the
Eucharist. You make Christ present and active
in the world through your practice of Peace,
Justice and Forgiveness with all those with
whom we live and associate with. Christ is
made real to our world through you.
May the parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe make
manifest to the South Bay, the presence of
Christ in our lives. May Our Blessed Mother,
who gave birth to Christ, be honored, through
our dedication to the mission of Christ in our
world.
If you are not already an
active member of this
community, consider
sharing in what we have
to offer. Our parish is
here to assist all who
wish to know God more
deeply. We serve the community through
outreach, education, social activities, sacramental preparation, and comfort of the sick
and those who mourn. Feel free to call
on us if we may be of service to you in
any way. Please consider registering
in our OLG Parish and supporting the
good work that is taking place
HERMOSA BEACH, CALIFORNIA
Thought for the Week
Christmas is over. New Year’s
Day has come and gone. Resolutions were made, some
kept and some broken. Winter is upon us and “the ordinariness” of life is back. But
we cannot go back to the same
old thing. We cannot let another day go without realizing
that each day is a new beginning a new day to grow in the love of God that we
experienced on our Baptismal day. As church, we
are invited to begin witnessing anew in our lives.
This is the call of our Baptism. When we were
baptized, it just wasn’t for a day but forever. We
are to witness each day that God gives us. This is
done by what we say and do in the ordinary things
of life.”
Feast day Santo Nino
de Cebu, Philippines.
Come and join us at OLG,
Hermosa Beach on Saturday,
January 14th. A replica of the
image of the Sto. Nino from
the Basilica Minore de Cebu
will be at the 5:00 PM mass
to celebrate the feast day of
the Santo Nino. Come! Let us adore Him. Viva!
Pit Senor!
Lent
The reason that Jesus came
as a child was to bring us salvation. We recall and enter
in the mystery of the birth of
Christ by being able to accept
the Cross. The year 2017
brings our celebration of Lent
to begin on March 1, 2017.
The Mysteries of Easter will
be celebrated on April 16th, 2017. Please mark these dates
on your calendar and join us for this celebration.
TRUE HAPPINESS
Abandon yourself utterly for the love of God,
and in this way you will become truly happy.

Regresamos a nuestras vidas ordinarias.
