(Jn 3:16) and knowing that he (Christ) “came that we might have life — life in all fullness” (Jn 10:10)

receive 10% of what CTR parishioners pay. We regularly
donate this income to LINK, S.O.M.E. and the Women's Shelter

SACRAMENT OF MARRIAGE
Engaged couples must make arrangements at least six months prior
to the date of marriage. All are required to participate in a
marriage preparation program. Please call the office to make an
appointment.
SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM
Baptism is ordinarily celebrated within a faith community. Please
call the office to register for a preparation class and to arrange for a
time for the celebration.
SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION
Confessions are heard on Saturdays from 4:00-5:00 p.m. in the
Guadalupe Chapel.
OFFERTORY GIFT BEARERS
What an honor it is to carry the wine, hosts and offerings to the
priest at Mass for consecration. Families and couples are invited to
sign up to bring the gifts at the Mass that they designate as their
preference. If you are interested, please contact Cristina in the

AVAILABLE SERVICES FOR THE HEARING IMPAIRED
A sign language interpreter is available on the
2nd and 4th Sundays of the month at the 5:30 p.m. Mass.
Along with the Masses, our parish has induction loop
and receiver systems for the hard of hearing. The
devices are located in the Usher Room.
SENIOR GROUP
The CTR Senior Group meets Fridays at 11:30 a.m. in the Library
for “Bring Your Lunch” meetings or at a local restaurant on the
second Friday of the month. Parishioners 55+ are invited to join.

MISAS DOMINICALES
Nuestra Parroquia de Cristo Redentor celebra tres misas
Dominicales: la primera misa Dominical es celebranda todos
los sábados a las 7:00 p.m. la segunda y tercera son a las
12:00 del mediodía y 3:00pm del día Domingo. La misa es
una celebración comunitaria; por lo tanto participan
miembros de los distintos grupos y movimientos de la
comunidad católica, por tal motivo tratamos de no
particularizarla con gestos que son propios de cada grupo o
movimiento eclesial.
SACRAMENTO DE UNCIÓN DE LOS ENFERMOS
Por favor llamar a la Oficina Parroquial para solicitar la
suministración de los Sacramentos de Confesión o Unción de
Enfermos, ya sea en la casa u hospital.
MISAS MEMORIALES
La santa misa se puede celebrar en caso de muerte. Para
arreglar una misa funeral pueden llamar a la oficina
parroquial. Intenciones comunitarias tienen que llegar 15

2015 BISHOP’S LENTEN APPEAL
Stewards of Christ Sharing Gospel Joy!
The Diocese of Arlington is a vibrant diocese and we have been
truly blessed. Yet, with this blessing comes increased spiritual
and pastoral needs and an even greater obligation to help the many
people in our midst who require our assistance and support. We
are asking all families in our parish to support the Bishop’s Lenten
Appeal (BLA) to the fullest extent that they are able. Thank you

Thank you for helping us share the Joy of the Gospel through your
support! We have reached 90% of our goal of $159,000.00.

ARCHDIOCESE FOR THE MILITARY SERVICES 20TH
ANNUAL MEMORIAL MASS
Join in prayer with the Archdiocese for the Military Services,
USA, to honor the men and women who are serving or have
served in the Armed Forces at the 21st Annual Memorial Mass on
Sunday, May 17, at 4:30 p.m. in the Great Upper Church of the
Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in
Washington, D.C. The principal celebrant and homilist will be
Archbishop Timothy P. Broglio. Military personnel are
encouraged to wear service dress uniform; civilians are asked to
wear business attire.

ANOINTING MASS
The parish community will celebrate the Sacrament of Anointing
of the Sick during a special Mass on Saturday, May 16th at 11:00
a.m. The entire parish community is invited to participate at this
special Mass, both those who suffer from physical and emotional
illness and wish to receive this sacrament, and also the faithful
who enjoy the gift of health whose presence is also a sign of
prayerful support.

CATHOLIC COMMUNICATION COLLECTION
Next week, our parish will take up the Collection for the Catholic
Communication Campaign. This collection communicates the
Gospel through Catholic social media activities and enriches our
faith through podcasts, television, radio, and print media. Half of
all proceeds remain in our diocese and support local needs, so
please be generous in this collection.
SPRING PILGRIMAGE TO ITALY
The Friars of the Atonement will sponsor a pilgrimage to
Italy from October 5 – 16, 2015. PLEASE NOTE THE DATE
CHANGE! The pilgrimage will visit Palermo, Sicily, Monreale,
Naples, Ischia, Pompeii, Assisi, Orvieto and Rome. Cost:

NATURAL FAMILY PLANNING (NFP) CLASSES

ENGLISH TEACHERS NEEDED
Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Arlington- Hogar Immigrant
Services, Education Services is urgently seeking volunteer
teachers for ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages)
here at Christ the Redeemer, beginning mid-May. We offer six
levels of English instruction and classes will be held on Tuesdays
and Thursdays from 8-9:30pm. You only teach once per week as a
part of a teaching team. Training and materials are provided.

The Readings for today are filled with such a lavish outpouring of
the Spirit as well a generous abundance of God’s love for “God is
love” and we are asked to “remain in my love.”
We are also asked to recognize that it is not so much that we love
God first. Rather, it is because God loves us that we understand
the Spirit in which we are to love one another and return our love
to God.
Let us remember the generosity of God’s Love poured out in the
Spirit and made real and present in the Sacraments of the Church.
Let us remember also our role in worship, thanksgiving and praise.
We have been chosen, appointed, and loved.
