OUR OFFENDED MINDS REVEAL OUR HEARTS
by Emmy Erquhart
When somebody tells you that you’re wrong - you can argue.
When God tells you that you're wrong - you can’t.
As we are fed truth week-in and week-out, the Church Body is continually growing and maturing in Spirit.
The more truth we hear and learn, the more we are held responsible for what we hear.
Essential to our growth and maturity is our willingness to receive Godly correction from our Pastors,
Ministers, Elders and at times brothers and sisters (Prov. 27:6). These are men and women Yahweh has
ordained to lead the Body, and he uses them to speak truth to us in love.
As we begin to walk into the new, and grow by the Spirit, there are things that we are now responsible for
owning.
When a leader in the Church comes up to us and says, gently and out of love, that they see something in
you that needs attention (that is prohibiting you from moving forward or being effectively received) it hurts
sometimes. Especially when you don't see it or agree. It’s human nature get offended or angry.
But as a Kingdom people we are called to a higher standard. To lay down our swords, and Hear what Holy
Spirit is saying in the moment. If people say you're wrong, you can argue. If God say’s you’re wrong, you
nod your head and say “Yes Sir.”
Romans 12:2 says “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your
mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-- His good, pleasing and perfect will.”
As Christians, we are all temples of the Holy Spirit, and house the discernment that He brings. We are able
then, to take what we hear to Yahweh and listen to see if it sits right. “Hey God, this person said that I need
to do this with love, or let go of this, or forgive so and so… I disagree, but what are You saying? Because
whatever You say, is the best for me, and You see things down the road that I do not.”
We can only walk as far as we are willing to be led.
“God works out ALL things, for the Good of those that Love him,
who have been called according to His purpose.” (Rom. 8:28)
Thank you Yahweh for Grace and Love and Your infinite wisdom that knows what my mind can not
comprehend. I trust you and I love you!

“The Deaf Ministry in
Cumaná is very active in
evangelism & discipleship.
Those attending bring new
deaf all the time. These new
feaf are then visited and
many come to know the
Lord. Two deaf couples are
being trained as leaders, who
are then putting into practice
what they learn by discipling
& teaching others. Cumaná
is just down the road from
where I will be working (about 1 1/2 hours away). The deaf there have committed to help
me with evangelistic outreaches & activities as we begin the new ministries in Puerto La
