LAC QUI PARLE ANNOUNCEMENTS for February 1
Welcome to our worship service this morning at Lac qui Parle Lutheran Church! We
extend a special welcome to all who are visiting with us and ask that you sign the
guest register at the back of the church. You are invited each week to join us for
coffee and fellowship in the narthex immediately before the service. Please come
again!
--With joy in the risen Christ, we celebrate Holy Communion. We believe that the
resurrected Lord Jesus Christ is present as our host at the Lord’s Supper. We also
believe that His Body and Blood are present together with the bread and wine and
through His self-giving we receive the Lord’s Supper. Those youth not yet
communing are invited forward to receive a blessing.
--Next Sunday we are trying something a little bit different for worship with a
contemporary worship!

--Extra Annual Reports are available by the coffee counter in the narthex.
--There will be a benefit for Brad Madsen, Superintendent of the Dawson- Boyd
School District. The benefit will be held on Tuesday, with a whopper feed and silent
auction beginning at 5PM. The event will be at the Dawson-Boyd High School
Commons (cafeteria area). An additional serving area will be held in the lobby of the
Community Center. Monetary donations can be mailed at any time to: Dawson Coop Credit Union, 711 6th Street, Dawson, MN 56232. Thrivent Financial is
sponsoring this event.
--Lac qui Parle Conference Assembly is next Sunday from 2-4 pm at Granite Falls
Lutheran Church. We may send six delegates. If interested, talk to Pastor Bruce.
--The Church Council is wondering if anyone has an old refrigerator in good shape
that we could put in the LqP parsonage. If so, please let John Dove or Kerry Kelly
know.

--If you are the last one leaving the sanctuary, please leave the fans turned on. Not
only will this help to conserve energy, but it will also help to drive away the bats!
--To help reduce the spread of germs during the flu season, you are asked not to
shake hands during the Sharing of the Peace, but to give a verbal greeting only. Also,
Pastor Bruce will not be shaking hands after the service, but will be at the back of
the church to greet you like always. This is not permanent! It’s only to get us
through the flu season. Thank you!
--Congratulations to Josh and Karin Falness on the birth of a baby girl, Ella Grace, 6
lbs. 15 oz. and 21 inches long, last Tuesday!
