I must go down to the seas again, to
the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star
to steer her by;
And the wheel’s kick and the wind’s
song and the white sail’s shaking,
And a grey mist on the sea’s face,
and a grey dawn breaking,
I must go down to the seas again,
for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that
may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the
white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown
spume, and the sea-gulls crying.
I must go down to the seas again,
to the vagrant gypsy life,
To the gull’s way and the whale’s
way where the wind’s like a whetted
knife;
And all I ask is a merry yarn from a
laughing fellow-rover,
And quiet sleep and a sweet dream
when the long trick’s over.

successful food drive
WSR conducted a food drive at
st
Stop & Shop on January 31 to
benefit Homes With Hope's Food
Pantry. The Club collected about
$9,000 worth of food and delivered it
to the Gillespie Center.
Here are some photos of the event:
To the Editor:
Thank you Stop & Shop. Thank you
Stop & Shop Saturday shoppers.
Thank you Westport Sunrise Rotary.
Thanks to all who supported Sunrise
Rotary's January 31st food drive for
Homes With Hope's Food Pantry,
which is located at the Gillespie
Center in downtown Westport.
Through the generosity of all these
civic-minded individuals, members of
Sunrise Rotary
(http://www.westportsunriserotary.com)
braved the day’s freezing conditions
and collected 166 large boxes of nonperishables – including peanut butter
and jelly, rice and pasta, cereal and
juice - plus $671 in cash. Together
these donations will allow our Food
Pantry to continue providing those in
need with some or all of their daily
bread.
Homes
with
Hope
(http://www.hwhct.org)
provides
nearly 3000 bags of groceries every
year to neighbors who have fallen on
hard times, and this biggest single day “food raiser” goes a long way to
meet the needs of so many.
It was an extraordinary effort, and
that effort represents what is so good
about this very generous community.

It was a pleasure sharing my
volunteer experiences with you and it
was quite an honor to receive the

former rotarian, was thrilled to hear
about my award and was also happy
to learn about all the great things that
you do.
Thank you so much for the Barnes
and Nobles gift card and for the
opportunity to be a part of your
morning breakfast. I very much
enjoyed meeting all of you.
Sincerely,

Sa’Couto:
Fellow
Rotarians - Wow! What an event we
had Saturday. Working as an almost
perfectly oiled machine, our Rotarian
Team collected and delivered to the
Gillespie Center 166 large boxes full
of non-perishable groceries plus $671
in cash, a total estimated value of
about $9,000! And all this was only
possible because of your dedication
and hard work in very difficult weather
conditions. Amazing! I am proud to be
associated with you.
Thank you from the bottom of my
heart. I think we well honored the
Rotary motto of Service Above Self.
