BOOKSHELF DELIVERIES
We will be handing out bookshelves today to the 1st graders at Lawrence Elementary, 3440
W. Maple, and Benton Elementary, 338 S. Woodchuck (visible from Maple just west of Ridge
Rd.). This will take the place of our regular club meeting this week.
SCHEDULE:
11:30 a.m. - Rotarians gather at Lawrence. If you have not previously been scanned into
the USD 259 system, you will need to stop in the office and have your ID scanned. If you
are in the system, we will gather at 11:40.
11:45 a.m. -- 1st graders come in to receive bookshelves and books, and interact with
Rotarians.
12:05 – 12:15 p.m. – Rotarians travel from Lawrence to Benton (a 3 mile drive which take
5 minutes or so)
12:15 – 12:45 p.m. – Rotarians eat lunch at Lawrence
12:45 – 1:05 p.m. – 1st graders come in to receive bookshelves and books, and interact
with Rotarians.
Rotary Winter Banquet

Entertainment: The Wabash City Brass
A new quintet that's just over a year old but they have been active in many ways. From playing on the
prestigious McCain Student showcase to show off their virtuosity, to playing Christmas concerts in
coffee shops to have fun, the Wabash City Brass has played almost anywhere music is. Based out of
Manhattan, Kansas, the group is made up of 5 of the best brass players in the state. They bring you
everything from classic quintet literature that will sooth the soul, to fast paced pop music that you can
sing along with. They hope to provide a fun and laid back time for all their audiences of ages!

MONTHLY GROCERY PROGRAM
We need members to sign up to help with the remaining months
this school year. We need 4 pairs of volunteers to purchase
groceries with a gift card provided by the club then deliver the
groceries to the family. The date of each delivery will be
determined by our shoppers, coordinating with the family’s
schedule.
STAR CLASS

Our next STAR Class will be Tuesday, February 24th
(Please note this change in the schedule since we
don’t have a meeting on February 17th.)
The topic will be “International Service. Why should you attend?
STAR Classes provide information about each aspect of Rotary
with a different topic being covered each class. It helps new
members earn their Blue Badge. It provides an opportunity to
meet with a small group of fellow Rotarians and it earns you a
make-up credit for attending. STAR classes are open to all
members!

some of their upcoming fundraisers:
