Presenters Dr Suzanne Grob is the principal of procureability, a small niche consultancy specialising in sustainable supply chain management. She is also a part-time university lecturer in sustainability, having taught at UTS and Macquarie University. She has held roles in government, consulting and academia, with experience in the areas of strategy formulation, corporate and business planning, policy development, marketing, change management and procurement. With over 15 years experience in sustainability, Suzanne has established the profile for sustainable procurement at the state and national government levels in Australia. She chaired the working party to develop the Australian and New Zealand Government Framework for Sustainable Procurement for the APCC, a COAG council, the world’s first government policy framework to include economic, environmental and social considerations. Alongside policy formulation she has delivered tools for practitioners to seamlessly integrate sustainability considerations into purchasing decisions. Suzanne envisaged, designed and delivered greenbuy, Australia’s first web-based tool for government purchasers to access and source accurate and comparable environmental data on products and services on state contracts. Victoria Whitaker is the Head of Australia for the Global Reporting Initiative. Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) is the developer of the world’s most widely used sustainability reporting framework. This framework sets out the principles and indicators that organisations can use to measure and report their economic, environmental, and social performance. GRI Focal Point Australia works to improve the uptake, usefulness and quality of sustainability reporting in Australia. With a master degree in sustainability, Victoria has over 13 years international experience in sustainability across academia, business, not-for-profits and government. Victoria focuses on integrating sustainability into organisational policy and strategies, facilitating organisational and behaviour change, leading advocacy campaigns as well as research and reporting. Career highlights have included managing the roll-out of Al Gore’s Climate Project in the UK, managing the Prince of Wales’s Business and Environment Programme at Cambridge University, and lecturing in Australia’s first Master of Sustainable Development at Macquarie University. Jennifer Hughes is a partner in the Environmental Markets team at Baker & McKenzie. Jennifer advises industry, developers and government on environment and planning law, including in relation to environmental licensing, contaminated land, hazardous materials, supply chain management and compliance, waste management and regulation and carbon emissions. Jennifer works with her colleagues around the globe advising multi-nationals on supply chain transparency obligations, product design considerations, labelling and documentation requirements, extended product responsibility, ecodesign requirements and conflict minerals. Jennifer is a member of Baker & McKenzie’s Global Sustainability Committee and Chair of Baker & McKenzie’s Australian Sustainability Committee. Harry Drakos is the General Manager Procurement & Sourcing at National Australia Bank. Harry has been with NAB for 9 years and has a strong commercial and supplier relationship management background, Harry brings with him experience from a broad spectrum of past roles covering IT Management, Strategic Consulting, Project and Program Director all focusing on improving business performance, process efficiency and the overall customer experience. He is currently the General Manager Procurement & Sourcing where he has responsibility for the overall management of all procurement and sourcing activities for the NAB.
