RECONCILIATION (Confessions)
The Sacrament of Reconciliation is celebrated at 4:00 P.M. on
Saturdays. The priest will remain in the confessional for as long as
penitents are present but not later than Mass time.
BAPTISMS
Baptisms are celebrated on the 1st and 3rd Sundays at 1:30
P.M. In order to better appreciate this sacrament, parents meet
with Fr. Pat for an interview and then attend our Baptismal
Program. The Baptismal Program is offered once a month.
Godparents are also welcome to attend. Please call Fr. Pat at 8836675 to make arrangements.
Baptisms in Spanish are celebrated on the 2nd Sunday at 1:30
P.M. Please call Fr. Pilar Arnulfo Urquilla Sosa at 516-883-6675.
MARRIAGE
Couples should call the Rectory at least SIX MONTHS in advance. No
date or any other arrangements should be made until the couple has been

Friends, promises to be a fabulous night, as adults gather in
glittering glory to mix, mingle, dine and dance,
all to generate funding for our beloved
St. Peter's Parish and its various ministries.
Committees are collecting items for the live, silent and
Chinese auctions.
Please reach out if you're able to add to the mix of cultural
and sporting event tickets, get-aways, apparel, jewelry,
accessories, home furnishings, decorative arts, etc.
Also, please consider loaning your church collectables for
the St. Peter's Golden Wall of Fame: A Collection of
Items Representing our Solid Faith Foundation
(all items will be returned safely).
We are also accepting donations of any surplus bottles of
wines, liquor and spirits for the fun Spirit Toss game (all
donated alcohol must be dropped off INSIDE the Rectory).

HUGE TAG SALE. St. Thomas the Apostle Church, at 24
Westminster Road in West Hempstead, is having a tag sale
in the Msgr. Smith Auditorium from August 21st to August
23rd. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday;
and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday. There will be something

FEAST OF ST. CHAVAR KURIAKOSE ELIAS.
There will be a celebration of this saint’s feast day at Notre
Dame in New Hyde Park on August 14th at 6 p.m. Mass

students preparing for the 2015 Catholic High School
Entrance Exam. Course fee is $250. Classes are September

Dear Parishioners,
Our new organ will be here soon. Because of new technology,
it will sound even better than the old one. The organ will be
installed within the next two months. It is customary for
parishioners to make a donation towards the cost of a new
organ. It can be a one time gift or you could spread it out over
months or even years. You can choose your intention, and
whenever you hear the organ played it will be a joyful reminder to you of that intention.
This is a great opportunity. I will be making a donation myself in memory of my mother and
father. For any amount over $2,000 we will put up a commemorative plaque, which will be
added to the group of plaques on the back wall of the Church.
