Who & What are the Columbiettes?
In 1939, Msgr. J. Francis McIntyre conceived the idea of a ladies organization to work with the
Knights of Columbus. The New York Chapter Knights of Columbus formulated a plan for such an
organization.
On March 2, 1939, the first Columbiette Auxiliary was instituted in New York City. Since then,
the Columbiette organization has grown nationally.
The Columbiettes are a unified body of Catholic women who work side-by-side with the Knights
of Columbus.
Why Become a Port Washington Columbiette?
We care and we share. The benefits from our membership are many - spiritual, moral, educational
and social. The activities and projects of our Auxiliary have been originated, developed and supported by our membership. Our social activities are enjoyable and make for lasting friendships,
and provide financial support.
Two parishes are covered under the Port Washington Columbiettes Auxiliary #1227:
St. Peter of Alcantara and Our Lady of Fatima.
Meetings are held at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 155 Manorhaven Blvd. The meetings are held
on the FIRST THURSDAY of every month at 7:30 p.m. The Columbiettes do not meet in July and
August. The annual dues are $20.
There are four levels in our Columbiette organization: Auxiliary, Chapter, State and Supreme.
The Supreme Council governs all levels.

Vice President:
Barbara Faticone
