Pilar Arnulfo Spirituality Center Happy Sacred Sunday from the IHM Spirituality Center Events to highlight: • On March 12th, Anne Marie Bannister gave an inspiring morning program on St Terese of Avila, a prominent Spanish Mystic, Carmelite nun and Doctor of the church. The group gathered, listened, and enjoyed a quiet time and fellowship. • St Joseph’s day (March 19th) was our second of 3 Lenten nights of prayer, stretch and social. The Lenten spirit was ignited by warm smiles, being together and praying together. After a thorough stress relief head and neck stretch, led by Sue O’Connell, we opened our hearts and minds to prayer led by Debbie Krim. The grand finale was a wine & cheese, and, YES, scrumptious St. Joseph’s pastries were gobbled up as we gabbed the night away • • We will have our last Prayer & Pals session in the IHM Spirituality Center on Thursday April 23rd. Hope you will join us for this fun relaxing Spiritual Spa evening as Easter people. The doors open at 6:45 p.m. We will begin with Present Moment Stretch at 7 p.m., followed by rosary or meditation, and then socializing and connecting with friends. Feel free to bring a beverage (soda, water, wine, beer); snacks will be provided. Come on, you deserve it! On Saturday April 18th, Julie Giunta will present “His Life for Mine...PURE GRACE”, a morning of teaching, sharing and fellowship from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mark your calendars! If you have any ideas for programs, please contact me! Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, The season of Lent is a time for us to renew our heart-to-heart relationship with God and with our neighbors. It is also an opportunity to reflect more deeply on what it means to be Disciples of Christ. One way we can respond to this call and help others to experience the love of God is by making a gift through the Catholic Ministries Appeal. The Catholic Ministries Appeal provides the means for our Church to serve more than 600,000 people of God in our community each year. Your generosity would enable us to support our Church’s efforts in evangelization, liturgy and worship, youth and young adult ministry, and programs for the poor and disadvantaged through Catholic Charities and our Parish Outreach programs. It also helps fund critically important religious education programs while promoting vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life. This Lent, I invite you to reflect on the words of Saint Paul, "For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that by His poverty you might become rich" (2 Cor 8:9). His sacrifice is a model for all of us to follow as we join together to impact the lives of thousands of people on Long Island through support of the Catholic Ministries Appeal. Thank you for your continuing generosity and commitment to the good works of our Church. May God bless you with many graces during this holy season of Lent. With my prayers and gratitude, I am Sincerely yours in Christ, Bishop of Rockville Centre -7- St. Peter of Alcantara VOLUNTEER FORM RELIGIOUS FORMATION PROGRAM 2015 - 2016 Please take a leap of faith and volunteer.
