EASTER SUNDAY
April 5, 2015
I shall not die, but live,
and declare the works of the LORD.
— Psalm 118:17
My Dear Parishioners,
Easter is a season of joy, compassion and renewal. Our Lenten journey has brought us to
Calgary. We continue to walk with the Risen Lord every day.
He is Risen! Alleluia! He is among us! Alleluia! We have walked with Jesus to Calgary and
because of Calgary we have a choice. (We have the freedom to choose.)
I choose love. . .
To love God and all that God loves.
I choose joy . . .
To see God in everyone and everything that God created.
I choose peace . . .
To forgive and to live in forgiveness.
I choose patience … When encountering inconveniences see them as opportunities to deal with
them in joy and courage.
I choose kindness . . . To be there for others in their need.
I choose faithfulness . .To God and to the Gospel
Easter is the day to renew our faith and hope in the Risen Lord. Thank God for the choices He
has given to us. Commit to these choices.
Today is the day of resurrection, the highest point of our faith. This is the day we celebrate every
Sunday when we gather and worship our Risen Lord.
As we celebrate Easter Sunday and our renewal of faith I would like to take this opportunity to
thank all of those who have helped during this wonderful season. To the staff, to our volunteers, to all
who worked so hard to make this day the wonderful celebration that it is.
Thank you to all who donated Easter flowers and lilies for our Altar. Their beauty reminds us of
Christ’s Resurrection and the newness of life. There is a new life for all of us after the tomb.
Happy Easter to all of you and, as always, you are in my prayers.
Father Tom

From The Principal of St. Felicitas School
— Meghan Jorgensen —
Thank you to all of those that supported our Eighth
graders by attending the Stations of the Cross on Good
Friday. We are so grateful to you for journeying the way
of the cross with us and we hope that we were able to
open your eyes to the amazing love of Jesus for all of us.
I hope that all of you have a wonderfully blessed
Easter filled with God’s grace and conquering love.
O Risen Lord, the way, the truth, and the life!
Make us faithful followers of the spirit of
Your Resurrection.
Grant that we may be inwardly renewed;
dying to ourselves in order that You may live in us.
May our lives serve as signs of the transforming
power of Your love.
Use us as Your instruments for the renewal of society,
bringing Your life and love to all, and leading
them to Your Church.
Amen
First Holy Communion
May 2, 2015
We would like to encourage family, friends and
members of the parish community to join us in prayer for
the children of our parish that will be celebrating the
Sacrament of First Holy Communion on May 2nd.
Prayer cards of the students that have been preparing
for First Communion were distributed to parishioners last
weekend. We asked them to take one of these cards home
and remember that child in their prayers.
We welcome you to send a card to that child. Please
write the child’s complete name on any cards that you
send. Cards for our First Communion students can be
dropped off at the Religious Education office or
St. Joseph Center by April 29th and we will forward
these to the children.
~~Thank you!
