POSITION SUMMARY: Humanity United is engaged in an ambitious effort to strengthen protection and reduce exploitation of nearly half a million migrant workers from Nepal to Qatar. The Manager of Technology Innovations will serve as an integral member of the team focused on improving rights for this migrant population. Specific responsibilities include: • Lead process and provide project management oversight to identify, design, prototype, pilot and potentially scale technology approaches and tools to assist migrant workers. o Drive product management and work closely with technology firms as they translate needs into detailed solutions o Manage all facets of technology products including scoping work, defining solutions, defining technical direction, overseeing the relationship with engineering development and design firms and coordination to ensure successful delivery of products o Ensure that stakeholders have the appropriate product and technical specifications, direction and resources to deliver quality product effectively o Facilitate dialogue between subject matter and engineering teams to ensure design and engineering challenges are addressed. o Establish a process to incorporate field feedback into the agile development process – Identify features and functionality related to business objectives. o Translate needs and experience into a sequenced product (or platform) and feature roadmap • • • • o Write detailed product requirements ensuring clear communication of those requirements to the business, design, usability and development teams Advise HU’s partners on how to use technology tools they have access to, under constrained circumstances, to meet the needs of their communities Provide strategic input and advice to Investment VPs and Director on technology investments related to combating trafficking in foreign labor recruitment and global supply chains Build an extensive local and international network of civil society organizations, practitioners, academics, investors, developers, and technology firms working on tech for social good Build and maintain working relationships with relevant US Government and foreign government counterparts, other donors, UN agencies, and international and national NGOs and civil society groups as needed KEY QUALIFICATIONS: • • • • • • • • • Strong desire in developing sustainable, community-driven technology solutions to meet today's most urgent social challenges. Technical fluency – comfortable in understanding and discussing architectural concepts, schedule trade-offs and new opportunities Track record of delivering quality timely results based on business goals and priorities. 5+ years program management experience in technological industry 5+ years project management – understanding platform development lifecycles and experience managing an initiative from start to finish Experience building features and understanding applications Strong strategic aptitude; proven ability to define a quality platform roadmap Experience working closely with developers, testers, designers and engineers Effectively judges technical risk and understands complex, technical challenges Other duties from time to time, as needed by institutional priorities.
