Saint Patrick Church Norristown, PA Page 2. -089 Bulletin Submissions We ask you to please submit to [email protected] attention to Maria Angeles Landero, Parish bulletin Editor all announcements you wish in the bulletin by 9 am on Monday 2 weeks before. Thank you. Would you like to try something new in your spiritual life during this New Year? Then please consider joining the Legion of Mary. The Legion of Mary is based on True to Devotion to Jesus through Mary as taught by St. Louis Marie de Montfort. Membership requires a weekly prayer/formation meeting and a weekly apostolic work which is assigned at the meeting and done in pairs by the legionaries. Our non-parochial Legion of Mary group meets on Tuesday evenings from 7:30 – 9:00 p.m. at the Legion of Mary Building, 510 Green Street, Norristown, under the spiritual direction of Fr. Francis Lendacky. The meeting includes the Legion Prayers and Rosary, a spiritual reading and discussion, a brief spiritual talk, and reports from each member on the Legion work done that week. The apostolic works we do include Street Evangelization (we have a “bookbarrow” which is a traveling pamphlet rack that contains free Catholic literature in both English and Spanish); visitation of the Norristown State Hospital (where we pray with the residents and accompany some of them to Sunday Mass); Pilgrim Virgin visitation (where we take a statue of Our Lady to host homes and pray the rosary with the families); and nursing home visitation. The Legion of Mary has been an important part of the Catholic Church since its founding in Dublin, Ireland in 1921. Its purpose is to give glory to God through the sanctification of its members by involving them in both prayer and action. It is a proven “saint-maker” with a rich history of ordinary people doing extraordinary things. The causes for canonization are progressing for three members: founder Servant of God Frank Duff, Venerable Edel Quinn, and Servant of God Alfie Lambe. For more information on the world-wide Legion: www.legionofmary.ie. For more information or to arrange a visit to a meeting: call Steve and Edel at 610-270-9937 or email [email protected] Make Legion membership your New Year’s resolution! Mother Teresa Regional Catholic School News: Are you looking for the perfect gift that will last a lifetime and beyond? Consider a gift of Catholic education though participation in our “MTC Sponsor a Student" program. One time donations or recurring monthly gifts are always welcome and your gifts are always tax deductible. 100% of your gift will benefit a student (anonymous or of your choosing) receiving a faith filled education. Please help us teach the heads, hands and hearts of all students that desire to attend Mother Teresa Regional Catholic School. To discuss this program further, contact Mrs. Vickie Walsh, MTC business manager. Our children are our greatest treasure and the future of the Church! As the end of another calendar year comes to a close, MTC School would like you to know that we hold all of our friends, families and supporters in our daily prayers of thanksgiving which starts and concludes each school day. MTC has begun our Tuesday Tour program. Prospective families are welcome to come and tour the school, observe classes in session and talk with the principal, enrollment director and teachers about any questions they have about the school and programs offered. Call Jayne Lloyd (610-265-2323 ext 207) today, or email ([email protected]) to schedule your appointment for the 2015-16 school year. We are excited to show you why "MTC is the place to be!" MTC is preparing for our 3rd annual auction to be held on February 21, 2015. This year's theme is "MTC Treasure Island" and we are looking for any of your unused, left over holiday gifts that you would like to donate to help us raise money for the school. Your re-gifted items can be left in the collection bins in the back of MDP and STA churches, as well as in the school lobby, through January 30th. If you are interested in purchasing tickets for the evening, sponsorship opportunities or volunteering for the event, please call the auction committee at (610) 246-5399 or [email protected]. We attended Fall Fest at the Council camp in Summertown, PA. In October, collected nonperishables as part of the National Scouting for Food Campaign in November (more than half of which were donated to the Patrician Society) and recently we sang Christmas Carols at Senior Suites & gave the residents hand-made ornaments. On MLK Day you will find us outside the SFA School and church sprucing up and beautifying the grounds. In addition to these Community Service activities we do a lot of fun activities. The annual SUPER BOWL WEEKEND HOAGIE SALE is one of our biggest fundraisers. This sale helps us to offset the cost of camping, field trips and other excursions. We will be selling Turkey and Italian Hoagies for $6 outside of SFA after the 5:30 Mass on Saturday, January 31, 2015 and after the 9:30 and 12 noon Masses on Sunday, February 1, 2015 just in time for your Super Bowl Celebration. Baldini’s hoagies are a tradition at our annual sale and we are extremely grateful to them for their continued support of scouting here at SFA. Please consider preordering hoagies (by January 21st) prior to Super Bowl Sunday and pick them up that day. Please contact Alicia Carlin by leaving a message on her home phone 610277-7895. Alicia and Fionn Carlin are Parishioners here at St. Pats and if there is a large enough preorder from the St. Pats community we will deliver to St. Pats at 11 am on Sunday February 1st. 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 Youth Choir Rehearsal 9AM Our 2nd Collection today is for CHURCH IMPROVEMENTS Spanish AA 1:30PM School building Immaculata after School Program 4pm Intercultural Class 6-8:30PM Spanish Classes 6pm Spanish Choir 7pm – School Building Choir Rehearsal 7pm CCD CLASSES 5:00PM – 6:15PM ESL CLASSES 10AM & 7PM ADORATION: 8:30am – 1pm Mercy Suburban Hospital Pastoral Coverage CCD CLASSES 5:00PM-6:15PM XV Class 3:30PM S.A.T.
