Personal Finances –PeoplesBank PeoplesBank will discuss the benefits of using a bank account versus other alternatives that individuals use to manage their money. Other topics include: preparing a budget plan in an effort to save money and highlighting the basic concepts of strengthening your credit in order to obtain a future loan. 2. Hundreds of Thousands of Dollars, Oh My! Paying for College 101 – uAspire College costs have increased 400% in the past 20 years. You’ve heard that college can cost thousands of dollars a year, and student loan debt across the country is higher than ever before. As a parent, the idea of paying for your child’s college education is understandably scary, especially if you have no experience with the process. College may cost a lot of money, but there are plenty of resources available to make it affordable for your family! In this course, uAspire will arm you with everything you need to know about the college financial aid process. 3. Finding Your Passion – Springfield Public Schools A workshop focusing on using the Harrington-O'Shea, an interest survey, to determine the career clusters that best fit you. The inventory looks at your skills, abilities, strengths and interests to develop a profile that provides you with a starting point for career exploration. 4. First Impressions and the Job Interview Process – Springfield Public Schools Do you need help in preparing for the job interview? If you answer yes to this question, this workshop is for you! You will learn how to develop a resume, cover letter, what employers look at during the interview and much more. 5. Supporting Your Biggest Investment: College Admissions 101 – Bay Path University This session is designed to provide an overview of admission factors that many colleges and universities in the state, and across the country, consider during the college application process. This program will include: review of curriculum rigor, tips for application essays, standardized testing such as SAT and ACT, how to stand out in the application process and other helpful resources to ensure you get the most for your money.
