Quý Ông Bà và Anh Chị Em thân mến!
Trước hết chúng ta cám tạ Hồng Ân Thiên Chúa sau những ngày hội chợ Giáo Xứ và dịp Mừng 10 năm Thánh Hiến
Nhà Thờ Giáo Xứ Đức Mẹ La Vang. Cùng với Cha Timothy và toàn thể Giáo Xứ La Vang, xin chân thành tri ân tới Ban
Chấp Hành, quý đoàn thể, quý ban nghành, quý thiện nguyện viên, quý ân nhân, quý mạnh thường quân đã hy sinh đóng
góp công sức qua việc bán vé xổ số, phục vụ các quầy bán đồ ăn và làm các công tác trong ba ngày hội chợ vừa qua,
thật là một sự hợp nhất trong Giáo Xứ đầy ý nghĩa. Ngày Chúa Nhật vừa qua, chúng ta đã xổ sổ và chiếc xe Camry
2016 đã được một người Tây Ban Nha trúng rồi, còn các vé trúng khác xin dò trong tờ thông tin của Giáo Xứ. Nếu ai
trúng số xin vui lòng liên lạc với văn phòng Giáo Xứ để nhận giải thưởng. Ngày thứ hai tuần này ngày 5 tháng 9, Lễ
Lao Động, văn phòng Giáo Xứ sẽ đóng cửa và nghỉ lễ, sẽ mở cửa lại trong ngày thứ ba. Một lần nữa, nguyện xin Chúa
qua lời chuyển cầu của Đức Mẹ La Vang trả công và ban muôn ơn lành thiêng liêng trên toàn thể quý vị!
Lời Chúa trong Chúa Nhật 23 quanh năm thách đố chúng ta hãy trở nên người môn đệ chân chính bằng cách phó thác
tất cả cho Thiên Chúa và đặt Ngài vào hàng đầu trong cuộc sống. Trong bài thứ nhất từ Sách Khôn Ngoan dậy chúng ta
hãy xin cho những ơn hiểu biết và sức mạnh từ Chúa Thánh Thần để chúng ta có thể thi hành Thánh ý Chúa và trở nên
những môn đệ chân chính của Ngài. Qua bài thứ hai, Thánh Phaolô gởi cho Philemon dậy chúng ta sự từ bỏ là việc cần
thiết để trở thành môn đệ đích thực của Chúa Giêsu, là một Tông Đồ có trách nhiệm và sốt sắng của Chúa Kitô, Thánh
Phaolô phải từ bỏ sự giúp đỡ của Onesius và trả về cho ông chủ, là một môn đệ mới của Chúa Kitô, Onesius phải rời bỏ
Thánh Phaolô và đối dịện với ông chủ như là người đầy tớ bỏ trốn và phải chấp nhận với những hình phạt. . Bài Phúc
âm nhắc nhở chúng ta giá phải trả cho việc làm môn đệ theo Chúa Kitô, bởi vì giá phải trả rất cao: người môn đệ đích
thực phải từ bỏ cả những tài sản của trần gian và của trái tim (qua những sự liên hệ). Trong bài Phúc Âm, Chúa Giêsu
đã đưa ra 4 điều kiện cho một người môn đệ đích thực: 1)Từ bỏ việc gắn bó nhiều quá đối với gia đình, 2)Hãy dứt bỏ
qua mức về tài sản bằng cuộc sống từ bỏ, chia sẽ ân sủng Chúa cho người khác 3)Chấp nhận những giá phải trà của
người môn đệ nghĩa là hằng ngày hãy hy sing phục vụ cho người khác ngay cả thí mạng sống mình vì tha nhân 4)Tính
việc giá phải trả trong việc theo Chúa Kitô, dùng hai dụ ngôn xây tháp canh và vua đem quân đi đánh giặc, Chúa Giêsu
nói: “Hãy suy nghĩ kỹ càng vệ vai trò môn đệ trước khi quyết định”.
Chúa Giêsu dậy chúng ta tuần này là chúng ta hãy chấp nhận những thách đố của người môn đệ với sự dấn thân tuyết
đối. Chúng ta làm hàng ngày bằng việc cầu nguyện với Chúa và nghe Lời Ngài qua việc đọc Kinh Thánh. Chúng ta
tham dự Thánh Lễ hầng ngày. Chúng ta cũng từ bỏ những cái tật xấu. Hãy dùng thời giờ cho việc phục vụ cộng đồng
bằng việc cầu xin ơn trợ giúp của Chúa Thánh Thần. Chúng ta yêu tất cả mọi con cái của Chúa, đặc biệt những người
kém may mắn và hãy có lòng thương xót tha thứ và phục vụ. Có như vậy đời sống của chúng ta thật sự là một môn đệ
đích thực của Chúa Giêsu vì Ngài Là Đường Là Sự Thật Và Là Sự Sống!

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ!
First, we are grateful to our heavenly Father for all the graces that He bestowed upon our parish for our Summer Festival and
10th Anniversary of the dedication of our Church. Together with Father Timothy, we express our deep appreciation to our
Bishop Kevin Vann and all priests who came to celebrate and prayed for our parish. Second, I want to thank the Vietnamese
and Hispanic Councils, parish staff, organizations, groups, and volunteers who helped to sell raffle tickets in the past three
months and served at the festival booths. Your active participation indeed is a great gift that you have given to our parish and
for that we are so grateful. The festival ended on Sunday with the raffle drawings – winners are announced in the bulletin this
week. If you are one of our lucky winners, please contact the parish office to claim your prize! On Monday, September 5,
2016, the parish office will be closed, in observance of Labor Day, and will reopen on Tuesday. Once again, may God,
through the intercession of Our Lady of La Vang, bless each one of you and grant you peace, love, and joy!
Today’s readings challenge us to the true Christian discipleship, that is, total commitment to the will of God, putting God first
in our lives. The first reading, from the Book of Wisdom, instructs us to ask for the gifts of discernment and strength from the
Holy Spirit, so that we may do the will of God as His true disciples. The second reading, from St. Paul’s letter to Philemon,
teaches us that detachment and renunciation are necessary for a true disciple of Christ. As a responsible Apostle and zealous
disciple of Christ, Paul had to renounce the service of his new helper, Onesimus, and return him to his master. As a new disciple of Christ, Onesimus had to leave Paul, face his owner as a runaway slave and accept the consequences. The responsorial
psalm instructs true disciples to lead holy lives by remaining constantly aware of the brevity and uncertainty of life. Today’s
Gospel reminds us to count the cost of being a disciple and follower of Christ, because the cost is high: true Christian discipleship requires one to "renounce" both earthly possessions and possessions of the heart (i.e., one's relationships). In today’s
Gospel, Jesus lays out four conditions for true Christian discipleship: (i) Renounce too much attachment to family, giving
priority to God and His commandments; (ii) Break off the excessive attachment to possessions by leading a detached life,
willingly sharing one’s blessings with others; (iii) Accept the hard consequences of discipleship, which include daily sacrificial service done for others and even giving one’s life for them; (iv) Calculate the cost involved in following Jesus. Using the
two parables of the tower-builder and the king defending his country, Jesus says to think long and hard about Christian discipleship before a decision is made.
We need to accept the challenge of Christian discipleship with heroic commitment and practice it. We do so by: (1) recharging our spiritual batteries daily through prayer, i.e., by talking to God, and by listening to Him through the meditative reading
and study of the Bible; (2) sharing in God’s life through frequent and active participation in the Eucharistic celebration; (3)
practicing the spirit of detachment and the renunciation of evil habits; (4) giving our time, talents, and resources generously,
for the Lord’s work in our parish community, relying on the guidance of the Holy Spirit; (5) loving all God’s children, especially the less fortunate ones, through humble and selfless acts of kindness, mercy, forgiveness, and service; (6) showing true
commitment to the obligations and duties entrusted to us by our vocation in life and our profession, like fidelity in marriage
and firm adherence to justice, in both our living and our profession.

Estimados hermanos y hermanas en Cristo!
En primer lugar, agradecemos a nuestro Padre celestial por toda la gracia que nos ha otorgado a nuestra parroquia durante nuestra
celebración del 10 ° aniversario de nuestra Iglesia y el Festival de Verano. Junto con el padre Timothy, queremos expresar nuestro
profundo agradecimiento a nuestro Obispo Kevin Vann y todos los sacerdotes que vinieron a celebrar y orar por nuestra parroquia,
En segundo lugar, quiero agradecer a los Consejos vietnamitas e hispanos, equipos parroquiales, organizaciones, grupos, voluntarios que han ayudado a vender boletos de la rifa en los últimos tres meses y que trabajaron arduamente en la venta del festival. Su
participación activa en verdad es un gran regalo que se puede ofrecer a nuestra parroquia por eso estamos muy agradecidos. El festival terminó el domingo con un ganador del carro del 2016 un joven hispano, y los otros premios también están en el boletín de esta
semana. Si eres ganador, por favor, póngase en contacto con la oficina para los premios. El lunes 5 Sept, 2016 será el día del Trabajo, la oficina parroquial estará cerrada y se abrirá el martes. Una vez más, que Dios, por intercesión de Nuestra Señora de La Vang
bendiga a cada uno con su amor y les conceda la paz y la alegría!
Las lecturas de hoy nos desafían al verdadero seguimiento de Cristo y entrega total a la voluntad de Dios, poner a Dios primero en
nuestras vidas. La primera lectura, tomada del libro de la Sabiduría, nos enseña a pedir los dones de discernimiento y la fuerza del
Espíritu Santo, para que podamos hacer la voluntad de Dios como sus verdaderos discípulos. La segunda lectura, de la carta de San
Pablo a Filemón, nos enseña que el desapego y la renuncia son necesarios para ser verdaderos discípulos de Cristo. Como apóstol
responsable y discípulo celoso de Cristo, Pablo tuvo que renunciar al servicio de su nuevo ayudante, Onésimo, y regresarlo de vuelta a su amo. Como un nuevo discípulo de Cristo, Onésimo tuvo que dejar a Pablo, y regresar a su propietario como un esclavo
fugitivo y aceptar las consecuencias. El salmo responsorial instruye a los verdaderos discípulos a llevar una vida santa, permaneciendo constantemente consciente de la brevedad y la incertidumbre de la vida. El Evangelio de hoy nos recuerda el costo de ser un
discípulo y seguidor de Cristo, porque el costo es alto: el verdadero discipulado cristiano requiere que uno "renuncie" a propiedades
y posesiones del corazón (es decir, las relaciones propias) terrenas. En el Evangelio de hoy, Jesús establece cuatro condiciones para
el verdadero discipulado cristiano. i) Renuncia al apego a la familia, dando prioridad a Dios y sus mandamientos. ii) Romper el excesivo apego a las posesiones llevando una vida individual, y con gusto compartir las bendiciones de uno con los demás. iii) Aceptar las consecuencias difíciles de ser discípulo que incluye el servicio de sacrificio diario hecho por los demás e incluso el de dar la
vida por ellos. iv) Calcular los costos involucrados en el seguimiento de Jesús. El uso de las dos parábolas del constructor de la torre
y el rey en la defensa de su país, Jesús dice: piensen largo y tendido sobre el seguimiento de Cristo antes de tomar una decisión.
El mensaje para nosotros es tomar en serio esta semana que tenemos que aceptar el reto de seguir de Cristo con el compromiso heroico y practicarlo. Hacerlo: 1) por la recarga diaria de nuestras baterías espirituales a través de la oración, es decir, al hablar con
Dios, y escucharlo a través de la lectura, meditación y estudio de la Biblia; 2) con la participación en la vida de Dios por medio de
la frecuente y activa participación en la celebración eucarística; 3) mediante la práctica del espíritu de desprendimiento y la renuncia a los malos hábitos; 4) dando nuestro tiempo, talentos y recursos generosamente, para la obra del Señor en nuestra comunidad
parroquial, confiando en la guía del Espíritu Santo, 5) amando a todos los hijos de Dios, especialmente los menos afortunados, a
través de actos humildes y desinteresados de bondad, misericordia, el perdón y el servicio; 6) al mostrar un verdadero compromiso
con las obligaciones y funciones encomendadas a nosotros por nuestra vocación en la vida y nuestra profesión, como la fidelidad en
el matrimonio y la firme adhesión a la justicia en nuestra vida y profesión.

On Saturday September 10, 2016 at 10 AM, our parish
will held a Anointing of the Sick Mass in trilingual. We
invite all parishioners to bring the elderly and the infirmed to celebrate the Sacrament of the Sick.

después de Misa de 8:30am. No abra junta de ningún

A. Quỹ Sinh Hoạt Hàng Năm Giáo Xứ
Quý Cha mời gọi hưởng ứng Tiền Giỏ Chúa Nhật tăng thêm $52/1 năm, mỗi gia đình. Tức là, mỗi
Chúa Nhật mỗi gia đình cho thêm 1 dollar nữa; Thực Phẩm, Hoa, Nến; Garaga Sale; Hội Chợ Mùa
Hè; và PSA Rebate.
B. Quỹ Mục Vụ Giáo Phận (Pastoral Services Appeal-PSA)
Quý Cha mời gọi hưởng ứng $300/ 1 năm, mỗi gia đình.
Tổng số dư ra sẽ được gởi vào Quỹ Sinh Hoạt Hàng Năm Giáo Xứ.
C. Quỹ Tôn Vinh Chúa Kitô Muôn Đời (For Christ Forever-FCF)
Quý Cha mời gọi hưởng ứng $100/ 1 năm, mỗi gia đình.
Quỹ này nhằm tu bổ Nhà Thờ Chánh Tòa mới của Giáo Phận.
Thời gian gây quỹ là 4 năm: 1/5/2013 – 31/12/2017; $400/4 năm.
D. Quỹ Xây Đài Đức Mẹ và Tòa Nhà Đức Tin (La Vang)
Quý Cha mời gọi hưởng ứng $750/1 năm, mỗi gia đình.
Quỹ này nhằm xây Tòa Nhà Đức Tin 2 lầu mới và Đài Đức Mẹ La Vang mới.
Thời gian gây quỹ là 4 năm: 1/5/2013 – 31/12/2017; $3,000/4 năm.
Khi hưởng ứng từ mức $3,000 trở lên,
quý vị ân nhân được ưu tiên khắc họ và tên
của mình hoặc của người thân đang còn sống hay qua đời
trên Đài Đức Mẹ La Vang khi xây xong.
Giáo xứ còn có 4 bậc ân nhân khác:
Ân Nhân Danh Dự - 50 ngàn
Ân Nhân Bậc Nhất – 20 ngàn
Ân Nhân Bậc Nhì – 10 ngàn
