Norris Square donde está la iglesia de West
Kensington Ministry, en toda la esquina de
Susquehanna y Hancock.

El 22 - 23 de noviembre vendrá un seminarista para
hablarnos durante todas las Misas.
Compañeros para Preservar Lugares Sagrados
La Parroquia de Visitación está colaborando con
una maravillosa organización que asiste a Iglesias
mantener sus edificios y recaudar fondos. Quizás
recuerdan como en 2011 tomamos parte en un
estudio que determinó que la Parroquia, la Escuela
y el Centro Comunitario de Visitación tienen un
valor para nuestra comunidad de 22 millones de
dólares. Estamos participando en otro estudio y los
resultados se publicarán en la primavera.
Algunos miembros de la parroquia asistieron en un
taller hace dos semanas que tiene como propósito
dar un repaso de la misión y visión de la comunidad
con el fin de escribir una declaración que se usaría
para pedir fondos de benefactores y fundaciones.
Requiere mucho trabajo por nuestra parte pero
esperamos resultados buenos a fin de cuentas.
¿Qué y Cuándo es la Boda Comunitaria?
CADA PAREJA ES LLAMADA a vivir como
discípulos de Cristo en una unión que es una
participación en la acción creadora de Dios—los
hijos. La familia Cristiana es el lecho de roca de la
Iglesia. El Sacramento de Matrimonio es una
aceptación pública por parte de la pareja que tiene
fe en el plan que Dios tiene para ellos. El próximo
14 de junio, un domingo, la pareja no casada tendrá
la oportunidad para ser bendita por este
Sacramento importante de la Iglesia. Si quiere ser

Raffle Tickets
In the next few weeks you will be receiving twelve
festival raffle tickets in the mail. Please sell them and
return the money in the envelope provided. First
prize is $4,000, second prize is $1,500 and third prize
is an Ipad. If you do not receive them or would like
more, please speak to one of the priests or ticket
sellers. We are looking for ticket sellers at the 8:00,
12:00 and 1:15 Masses.
Annual Thanksgiving Dinner
Our annual Thanksgiving Dinner will be Sunday,
November 23 from 2pm to 4pm in the school
cafeteria. All are invited. If you would like to
volunteer to help serve or deliver meals please call
Sr. Dolores in the school.
Mass on Thanksgiving Day
The best way to give thanks is the Eucharist, which
means “Giving Thanks”. Thanksgiving Day Mass is
trilingual at 10:00am on November 27. All are
invited to bring a canned good for our food pantry

West Kensington Ministry on the corner of
Susquehanna and Hancock at Norris Square.
A safe place, a sacred place, will be set up this week
in a neighboring non-Catholic church. We of
Visitation BVM Church will be involved since a
member of our church will be the person to receive
sanctuary. What this means is that people of faith
who make up the New Sanctuary Movement will be
making a prophetic statement. The statement we will
be making goes something like this: “The deportation
order that our sister is under is unfair and will lead to
the breakup of her family if she is deported. Therefore
we stand with our sister and her family and invite
them into sacred ground where we hope she will be
safe from the authorities who may try to enforce this

Partners for Sacred Places
Visitation Parish is involved with this wonderful
organization that helps churches maintain their
buildings and fundraise. You may recall in 2011 we
were part of a study that determined that Visitation
BVM Parish, School and Community Center were
worth $22 million dollars to our community. We are
part of a next study and the results will come up in
the spring. Some of us attended a workshop 2 weeks
ago which is geared to reviewing our Mission/Vision
as a community in order to write a case statement
which will be used to solicit funds from donors and
foundations. This will entail a lot of work on our part
but we hope the results will pay off in the end.

EVERY COUPLE IS CALLED to live as followers of
Christ in a relationship that is a sharing in the
creative act of God—children. The Christian family
is the bedrock of the Church. The Sacrament of
Matrimony is a public recognition by the couple of
their faith in God’s plan for them. Next June 14, a
Sunday, unmarried couples will have the
opportunity to be blessed by this important

SUY NIỆM
Dụ ngôn hôm nay cho chúng ta thấy cả
ba người đều được trao vốn, tuy tiền bạc, vốn
liếng khác nhau, nhưng bổn phận, nghĩa vụ, và
trách nhiệm của họ là phải làm việc, làm lợi số
vốn chủ đã trao cho họ. Hai người đầy tớ được
chủ trao cho mỗi người một số vốn cao. Họ hết
sức đầu tư, làm việc để sinh lợi hầu đáp trả lại
tấm lòng của chủ và để minh chứng họ cũng
rất tin yêu ông chủ. Hai người đầy tớ này có
con tim nhạy cảm, một trái tim rộng mở, một
trái tim tin yêu giúp họ có đủ nghị lực, đủ thông
minh, đủ can đảm để đem tài trí, khả năng của
mình tìm cách phục vụ có lợi ích và sinh lời cho
chủ. Hai người đầy tớ này đã được ông chủ
khen thưởng, xứng đáng và xem như là những
đầy tớ trung tín với chủ.
Người đầy tớ thứ ba cũng được trao
một số vốn hợp với khả năng, hợp với tài trí
của mình, nhưng anh ta không tin yêu chủ đủ,
chính vì thế anh đã không có sáng kiến để phục
vụ chủ cho tốt. Anh không làm hao hụt vốn chủ
đã trao, nhưng anh ta không biết làm lợi vì
không tin yêu chủ cho đủ. Nên ông chủ coi anh
là đồ vô dụng, nghĩa là đồ bỏ không còn đáng
được tin tưởng, tín nhiệm nữa.
Ông chủ chính là Chúa. Ở đây qua dụ
ngôn này Chúa muốn dạy chúng ta bài học rất
thực tế: Chúa tao dựng nên con người, Chúa
thương hết cả mọi người, nhưng con người có
tin yêu và tin tưởng, phó thác vào Chúa hay
không lại là một chuyện khác.
Chúa trao cho mỗi người một số vốn
khác nhau, không ai giống ai. Có người Chúa
trao cho khả năng vượt người khác, có người
có trí chậm hiểu hơn, có người có trí kém hơn.
Mỗi người đều có khả năng, tài trí khác nhau.
Khi đã được Chúa trao cho số vốn nào đó, họ
phải làm lời số vốn Chúa trao. Bất cứ người
nào cũng phải hiểu rằng dù Chúa trao bao
nhiêu đi nữa, họ cũng phải làm lợi ra cho Chúa
và không ai được làm biếng không chịu làm!
Mỗi người đều có bổn phận, trách nhiệm sinh
hoa kết quả cho Chúa. Dẫu rằng người có khả
năng nhiều, người có khả năng ít, nhưng mẫu
số chung con người là phải cố gắng. Chúng ta
thà cố gắng còn hơn có tài, có khả năng, có
vốn nhiều mà không cố gắng sinh lời cho Chúa.
Thực tế, Chúa chẳng cần những nén
bạc của những đầy tớ đã làm lời cho Người,
bởi vì cuối cùng thì Người cũng cho lại họ. Mọi
sự đều là ân huệ của Chúa. Chúa muốn chúng
ta làm theo ý của Người. Do đó, bất cứ chúng
ta làm việc gì theo ý muốn của Thiên Chúa, thì
không có việc nào là nhỏ, là tầm thường, tất cả
đều là lớn lao trước mặt Thiên Chúa.
Con người được sinh ra giống hình ảnh
của Người. Chúa muốn con người luôn sống
tình con thảo đối với Người, cũng như Người
đã luôn sống tình con thảo đối với Cha của
Người. Sống tình con thảo có nghĩa là luôn
sống vâng lời Cha, luôn làm theo ý Cha. Chúa
Giêsu trước chén đắng thật sự khó nuốt, đã
thốt lên lời: “Lạy Cha, nếu có thể, thì xin cho
Con khỏi uống chén đắng này, nhưng đừng
làm theo ý Con, mà theo ý của Cha.”
Chúa đã trao cho chúng ta người năm
nén, người hai nén, người một nén. Chúng ta
phải mau mắn làm lời cho Người. Theo đạo,
danh nghĩa là Kitô hữu rất dễ, nhưng để sống
trọn vẹn ý nghĩa Kitô hữu lại là một chuyện
khác. Chúng ta hãy noi gương người đầy tớ
thứ nhất và thứ hai: siêng năng làm lời vốn chủ
đã tin tưởng trao phó cho mình và đừng bắt
chước người đầy tớ thứ ba ỉ lại, làm biếng
không làm lợi số vốn chủ đã trao cho anh. Đối
với Thiên Chúa không có việc gì quá nhỏ
không đáng làm và không có việc gì quá nhỏ
mà không đem lại lợi ích. Điều quan trọng là
con người có làm hay không làm. Thánh
Giacôbê nói một câu thật chí lý: “Đức tin không
có việc làm là đức tin chết.”
Lạy Chúa Giêsu, xin ban thêm đức tin
cho chúng con để chúng con biết dùng khả
năng, trí tuệ, Chúa ban để kiến tạo cơ ngươi
đời này và sự nghiệp tin yêu trên trời. Amen.
