Presidents Message
As you read this, the official first day of spring will be seven weeks away and we will be
anxiously hoping for Wiarton Willie to predict an even earlier start to the season.Perhaps it
will make you feel better to realize that while those of us north of the border are dealing
with fluctuating temperatures, our snowbird members are facing a fluctuating looney!
Whatever the weather, our activity conveners have organized lots of activities to keep you
busy. Go to lunch, take a walk or play a game of euchre. PARTICIPATE. Spring will be
here before you know it.
I want to take this opportunity to thank Carol Breen for taking over the January meeting on
short notice - I understand that she did a stellar job

POT LUCK DINNER
Pot Luck Dinner at Breakers, Cumberland Lane, Ajax, on Sunday 15th February at 5:00 pm.
There is room for another 6 members to attend, please sign up and bring your cheque or $5.00 cash at our
February, General Meeting or call Gloria as soon as possible.
You will also need to inform us as to what meal item you are planning to bring for the Pot Luck dinner.
You must also inform us if you plan to play Court Whist. Sylvia Clark needs to know who is participating in

PROBUS EUCHRE
Unfortunately there will no Euchre until further notice, since we can no longer use the facilities at Pickering
Lawn Bowling club.
A new place to play is being looked into.
There will be no Euchre on 9th or 23rd February.

LOCAL EVENTS FOR February 2015 AT THE AJAX LIBRARY
SOCIAL BRIDGE: Join the group in the Rotary Room, Main Branch on Harwood Av for social bridge.
Everyone welcome – tables, cards, score sheets provided.
Refreshments available – donation requested to pay for supplies and lessons.
Thursdays 5th & 19th February from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm.
(Please arrive after 2:15 pm so that the room can be set up.
Bridge Lessons led by Dave and Irveen Powley will resume in the Fall.
SOCIAL EUCHRE: Rotary Room, Main Branch – Fridays 6th & 20th February from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm.
Led by the illustrious Brian Sheppard the games are always fun. Cards and score sheets are provided.

Enjoy a lively discussion of current local, national and international events in a friendly atmosphere.
