For one position in NIUS (PHYSICS) Laboratory Programme
Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education, (TIFR), Mumbai hereby invites applicants for Walk-in-interview for NIUS
Physics Laboratory at HBCSE, Mumbai. The candidates should have interest in the field of Experimental Physics and
willingness to work in the physics laboratory at HBCSE, TIFR, Mankhurd, Mumbai 400088
We are looking for candidates, who would like to contribute towards the improvement in the quality of training in
experimental physics. The candidate will have to work with the NIUS (Physics) group in some of the following areas:
1. Study and development of experiments and undergraduate student projects in Physics.
2. Physics Education Research and Development.
3. Preparation of written material/manuals for training in experimental physics.

PROJECT SCIENTIFIC OFFICER ‘B’ – ONE POSITION
1) Qualification: Candidates should have a M. Sc. degree in Physics with minimum of 60 % marks.
Candidates with additional degree /course will be preferred.
2) Experience:
1 year work experience of working in a research laboratory, industry, teaching or
relevant to the field
The position is purely temporary, for one year in the first instance and extendable by one or two more years in
deserving cases. A consolidated honorarium of Rs. 40,000/- (inclusive of HRA) will be paid
Age: Below 28 years
Note: Project Scientific Officer - B will not be entitled for office accommodation.
Applicants must bring with them the following: 1) Application on plain paper giving full details such as Name, Date of Birth,
Full address with phone/mobile number and e-mail address (if any), Educational Qualification, experience, caste, names, phone
number and addresses of two referees, details of post applied for and Notice Number. Attach true copies of relevant certificates duly
attested. 2) The original certificates for verification. 3) One latest photograph. 4) Applicants in Govt. / Semi-Government /
Public Sector undertakings /Autonomous body will have to submit No Objection Certificate from their reporting officer.
Outstation candidates belonging to SC/ST are entitled for ordinary/Mail/Express second class return railway fare. This
concession is not admissible to those SC/ST candidates who are already in Central/State Govt. service.
