DESIGNATION OF BODIES FOR WHOLE OF GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTS FOR
2014/15
Purpose
1.
This letter asks Departments to confirm that Annex A (attached), which details
all the bodies to be designated for 2014/15 by the departmental group, is
correct. This will allow the Department of Finance and Personnel (DFP) to
make a new Designation of Bodies Order for 2015. It is important that the
legislation lists the name of the body as contained in the enabling legislation,
and so I would ask that you check and make any amendments to the Annex as
required.
2.
The Designation Order will enable DFP to require those bodies that have been
designated to provide financial information in relation to the financial year
2014/15. As in previous years the level of detail will vary according to the size
of the body. This information will then be forwarded to HM Treasury for use in
the preparation of Whole of Government Accounts (WGA) at the United
Kingdom level for that year.

Departments should carefully check the bodies listed against their departmental
group to ensure that all applicable bodies are included, in particular, newly
classified NDPB’s and other new bodies outside the departmental boundary.
Please do not include any North/South Bodies as they will be excluded from
WGA in 2014/15. Departments should then complete Annex B and indicate if
they are content with the information, or provide the necessary information for
AFMD to update the list for 2014/15. The current list attached at Annex A is
based on the bodies designated for the 2013/14 WGA process and those we
have become aware of during the year.

Annex B should be returned to Joanne Warnock at [email protected] (or
hard copy to Room S23, New Building, Rathgael House, Balloo Road,
BANGOR, BT19 7NA), no later than 11 February 2015.
