DESIGNER DEVELOPER (BI) Based in Kings Cross, London, N1C 4AG Salary circa £50,000 per annum (depending on experience) A vacancy has arisen in the IT department for a Designer Developer within the Oracle technology to support the design, development and estimation of technical solutions within the BI project team. The role holder will be primarily working on Oracle bespoke solutions and will need to develop technical solutions through software development or configuration, including development and testing of technical solutions Key responsibilities Supports the technical designers in producing estimates and the technical design for a solution Responsible for consulting with colleagues and/or clients to establish the solution approach Evaluates and implements approaches to incorporate existing or new technologies Responsible for observing, diagnosing, testing, and fixing faults in the software Responsible for writing and testing software code Evaluates and analyses incidents, problems, requests and systems changes assigned to their team Collaborates with other IT specialists both internally and externally Responsible for the supervision and coaching of developers when required Produces written requirements and technical specifications documentation for sign off Controls, builds and performs code release implementations to development, test and live environments Responsible for controlling the development of software environment refreshes Experience and qualifications Demonstrable software development experience Knowledge of database architecture and design Proven ability to produce accurate estimates for coding and testing effort required to produce a particular technical solution Proven ability to write detailed requirements and technical specification documents Proven ability to code software according to published standards and design guidelines Technical skills In-depth knowledge of the following areas: Microsoft BI Skill set including Power/pivot/query/view/map Powershell knowledge, knowledge of AMO SSAS to support cube processing SSAS MOLAP/Tabular architecture and design to follow best practise Designing reports with SSRS using relational databases as a source as well as the cube SSIS (SQL Service Integration Services) A good understanding of: MDX/DAX languages TFS (v2013 an advantage) ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) code using Oracle Database SQL and PL/SQL, Toad.
