Call Committee Update
Love-It Lock In
On behalf of the Call Committee, I wanted to give you an update on our search for a Senior Pastor. We
are at various stages with multiple candidates. We are still accepting and reviewing resumes as they
come in and there are three candidates that we are progressing through the interview process.

We know this is a process that requires patience and we are again asking you all to pray for the members
on the Call Committee to give them strength and patience while we continue to work through the
Holy Spirit.

New Interim Pastor
...and more!
We are pleased to announce that the Board of Directors has hired a new Interim Pastor to serve with us
until we are able to locate a new Senior Pastor. In December, the Board formed a search committee with
the mission to seek out, interview and recommend an Interim Pastor to help our church during this
period. The search committee included Eric Winge, Blake Strehlow, Cheryl Thompson, Becky Lee and
Mark Solhjem. After reviewing all the applicants, they interviewed four different candidates. After much
prayer and consideration they recommended Paul Cross to the Board. Paul has accepted the job and will
start on February 8th.
Paul Cross is a Pastor in the LCMC, most recently serving a congregation in Texas. He has his Master of
Divinity from Luther Seminary, a Master of Theology from Bethel Seminary, and a Doctorate from
Asbury Seminary. In addition to serving congregations his whole career, he has helped to train young
leaders by guiding numerous interns and has taught preaching at the Masters Institute in Saint Paul.
We are blessed to have Paul join us and look forward to working with him. Paul will preach his first
Sunday here on February 8th. Please join us in welcoming Paul Cross.
Lenten Schedule
Join us Wednesday evening during Lent (February 18th through March 25th) as we dissect the

time we will focus on 6 parts that lead us directly to the cross. All Wednesday services are at 6:30
following a soup and sandwich supper at 5:15.

Do you sometimes find you have a whole list of things to tell

2 Timothy 4:9-22, the passage we plan to study at Men's
Morning, Thursday at 6:45 a.m. in the Fireside room. Paul
mentions the cloak he left behind, a list of people to greet,

Valentines Day Dance
On February 17 at 6:30 in the Fireside Room, please join us
to view an excerpt from A Different Kind of Freedom, True
Woman 2014 Conference featuring Joni Eareckson Tada.
For a long time, Joni Eareckson Tada asked the Lord to set
her free from her confinement to a wheelchair. Instead of
answering that prayer, He gave her a different kind of
freedom. Joni will explain why your unanswered prayers
may be the backdrop for a deeper healing and a new
understanding of freedom in Christ in this message given at
the True Woman '14 Conference in Indianapolis on October
9, 2014.
Next Wednesday, February 18th, is Ash Wednesday, which
means we will not have regular confirmation classes that
evening. However, the week following we will have classes
with a new format throughout Lent. These nights are
required for confirmation students! Contact Brandon Foster
with any questions.

Why the Cross? Lent 2015
Have you ever stopped to ask the question why?
Scientists can spend years trying to answer this
question. Gameshow hosts love posing this
question. This Lent we are going to take our turn
with the question as we ask, “Why the cross?”
