Objective
To obtain a challenging and rewarding position as a hardware engineer in a fast paced environment
with opportunities for growth.
Education
Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering, May 2014, GPA: 3.67
Minor in Robotics Engineering - Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) - Worcester, MA
Skills
Software: LTSpice, EAGLE, OrCAD, Xilinx ISE, TI Code Composer, Visual Studio, Eclipse IDE, Microsoft
Office, SVN
Languages: Embedded C, Python, Matlab, C++, Verilog, VHDL
Hardware: Lab Equipment, hardware and firmware debugging, fine pitch soldering
Experience Hardware Engineer III, Sunrise Labs – Auburn, NH, June 2014-present
Responsibilities include design, debugging, documentation and testing of products built for customers,
primarily in the Medical Devices industry. Projects span analog and digital domains, including EEG
capture, surgical tool control, and wirelessly connected devices.
Engineering Co-op, Mercury Systems – Chelmsford, MA, May - August 2012, May - August 2013
Executed initial electrical bring-up and troubleshooting on several custom computer systems. Fixed
problems and performed verification on respins. Debugged FPGA IP written in VHDL, performed PCB
layout analysis. Designed and performed PCB layout for automated cable integrity testing device.
Wrote design specifications for a future product and began initial schematic design and component
selection.
Engineering Aid (internship), FLIR Systems – North Billerica, MA, May - August 2011
Tested, debugged, and repaired incoming printed circuit boards at the component level, including
analog, digital and power circuits. Designed and assembled test fixtures for PCBs. Wrote automated
camera lens calibration routine now used in production of camera gimbals.
Projects
Major Qualifying Project – WPI, August 2013 - March 2014
Developed a self-contained wearable ARM-based embedded system that can track the location of a
first responder in a building in real time using stereo camera visual odometry and inertial odometry.
The system ran a Linux build on a TI OMAP processor. Responsible for software development, OS
management and power supply.
Advanced Digital Design with FPGAs – WPI, January - March 2013
Designed and implemented several projects using the Verilog HDL for a Xilinx Spartan-6 FPGA, including
state machines, VGA output, and a soft-core microcontroller.
Real-Time Embedded Systems – WPI, March - May 2013
Programmed several real-time systems on a TI ARM Cortex-M3 in C using TI’s RTOS. Designed and
implemented a simple 500 kHz oscilloscope using on-chip peripherals including the ARM Nested
Vectored Interrupt Controller, ADC, DMA, timers and UART.
Electrical Engineering Design Course – WPI, October - December 2012
Designed, built and programmed an internet-enabled water level monitor with Ethernet connectivity
using an embedded microcontroller for an open ended design competition, taking second place.
Interactive Qualifying Project – Ifrane, Morocco (WPI), August - October 2012
Interviewed farmers about irrigation and farming practices, worked with local government officials and
researchers to assess the success of a program to improve irrigation efficiency in the region. Made
recommendations to improve the program outcome.
