January 28, 2015 Dear Families: Catholic Schools Week is in full swing this week at Holy Rosary. We began the celebration with an amazing turnout of our students and families at the 9:00 mass on Sunday. I enjoyed seeing so many school families afterwards at coffee ‘nd. The Staff Appreciation Day was on Monday, and their luncheon was delicious and a real treat. We want to thank Eli Swift and the Parent Association for their work in providing this special lunch. I also want to thank Maribel Menanno for all her support and organization of the events for Catholic Schools Week. This Thursday, January 29th, new families and community members are invited to visit our Open House during the school day (9:00-11:30), with the evening open house(6:30-8:00) for current students, parents and relatives. Please join us and see the outstanding student work displayed throughout the school, including the 7th grade Project Reach displays in the lunchroom. IMPORTANT REMINDER – This Friday, January 30th, is Student Appreciation Day. There are numerous events scheduled for our students on Friday, including the last day for Seahawk gear to be worn to school. Also on Friday is our first Alumni Night, a celebration honoring all alumni of Holy Rosary School. Festivities will begin at 7:00 PM in the Pastoral Center and include exhibits, artifacts and mementoes from the first 50 years of our school. Complimentary refreshments will be served. I hope that you were able to enjoy our Coffee Café yesterday morning. It was just a small way of thanking you for your continued support of Holy Rosary School. The staff and I enjoyed serving you. In other news, Holy Rosary Religious Education Program, along with our school, is sponsoring Lenten Family Sunday on February 8th from 9:00-11:00 for grades 1 – 6 families. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn more about the importance of service and prayer in our daily lives and especially during Lent. Thank you for your involvement in Catholic Schools Week celebrations. It is a great opportunity to showcase the students’ spiritual and academic growth and achievement. Holy Rosary School is such a caring and giving community because of you! Blessings, Sue Venable HOLY ROSARY SCHOOL January 28, 2015 Jump Rope/Hoops for Heart Jump Rope and Hoops for Heart will be held on Tuesday, February 10 and Wednesday, February 11 during your son’s or daughter’s Physical Education Class.
