AUCTION RULES:
1. Each person will receive a bid number at registration. To bid in the silent auction, write your bid
number on the silent bid form. To bid in the live auction, hold your bid card high and wait for
auctioneer acknowledgment.
2. Bidding in the silent or live auction constitutes a legal contract to buy. All sales are final, and there
will be no exchanges or refunds. In the event of a dispute, the decision of the auctioneer is final.
3. Please pay special attention to restrictions and expirations. All certificates expire one year from
the date of the auction unless otherwise stated.
4. Bennett Elementary PTSA has endeavored to catalog and describe items correctly, but all items
are sold "as is," and Bennett Elementary PTSA neither warrants nor represents, and shall in no event
be responsible for the correctness, description, genuineness, authorship, provenance or condition of
an item. No statement contained in the catalog or made orally at the sale or elsewhere shall be
deemed to be such a warranty, representation, or assumption of liability.
5. Bennett PTSA Auction reserves the right to add or withdraw items to or from the auction without
notice.
6. Auction items will be awarded to one purchaser only. The top bid amount for an auction item will
not be split among bidders who may have agreed to pay a portion of the top bid amount. Bidders
who wish to split a payment for an auction item must select an individual bidder to act as purchaser.
This purchaser is then responsible for payment to the Bennett PTSA Auction Bank and for collecting
the auction item(s) or certificate(s). The purchaser is also responsible for collecting individual
payments from the other bidders.
7. We will gladly accept payment by check, cash, VISA, MasterCard or American Expres. Please make
your check payable to Bennett Elementary PTSA. The Bennett Elementary PTSA is a 501©3 nonprofit
organization, and your payments are tax deductible as a charitable contribution only to the extent
provided by law. Please consult your tax advisor for deductibility over the Fair Market Value. Federal
Tax ID Number 91-1067689.
8. All items must be paid for and picked up the night of the auction.
9. Each person issued a bid number (bidder) assumes all risks and hazards related to the auction and
items obtained at the auction. Each bidder agrees to hold harmless from any liability arising from the
Bennett PTSA Auction, its elected and appointed officials, members and employees, the
auctioneer(s), the auction company and its agents and employees, the event organizers, sponsors
and/or volunteers connected with the auction.

MATCHING GIFTS / CORPORATE MATCHING
Matching gifts programs are corporate programs which provide for donations to be made to
charitable organizations including school’s Parent Teacher Associations. To qualify for a matching
gift, a personal contribution is made to a charitable organization by the employee (in some cases,
spouses and retirees donations are eligible as well). The company then "matches" the employee’s
donation with a corporate donation to that same charitable organization. Corporate matching
amounts vary, but often, corporate matching can double the value of your donation to the Bennett
Elementary PTSA.
Example: You work for Wells Fargo. Wells Fargo matches 100% of employee charitable contributions,
of a minimum of $25 up to $300. So if you donate $500 to the Bennett PTSA, Wells Fargo will send an
additional $300 to the Bennett PTSA. Because of you, the Bennett PTSA receives a total of $800!
Which companies match? Most large companies and many small companies, both public and private,
have matching gift programs. Examples include Boeing, Cisco, Chevron, Sony, Travelers Insurance,
Genentech, Federated/Macy’s, RBC, Dain Rauscher, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Toyota, Cingular,
Microsoft, Yahoo, Aetna and more.
How do I get my donation matched? Ask your Human Resources Department if they have a
Charitable Matching Gift program and/or grant program or look on your company’s intranet. Follow
the programs guidelines specific to your employer’s program.
Tax Information: Richard Bennett Elementary PTSA is a qualified nonprofit organization under
Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c) (3). Our Taxpayer ID Number is 91-1067689. Your employer
may require an IRS determination letter confirming its nonprofit status. Please contact the matching
gift coordinator at [email protected] for a copy of that letter.
Unique to Microsoft Employees: Your volunteer time amounts to $17.00 per hour for the
organization you volunteer for. If you have already volunteered time at Bennett before, during, or
after school, please complete a matching gift request. Your time is valuable, and with this program
Bennett Elementary PTSA can benefit even more!
Auction Donations: Amounts eligible for matching from auction purchases are limited to the excess
of the amount paid for the item(s) over fair market value. While no amount of your auction ticket
price is eligible, the total amount of your donation made at the auction’s "raise the paddle to
support..." is.
Should I do it? Absolutely you should do it! It isn’t too much trouble, it’s worth it! Matching gifts add
up! Bennett Elementary PTSA’s matching gift coordinator can walk you through the specific process

Monte Carlo! Wipe Out! Bunco!!! Fourth & Fifth Graders will have a blast playing a fun game
of Bunco together! Bunco is an easy-to-learn game of dice, luck and prizes played by groups
of women, school children and couples dating back to the late 1800's. Come together and
experience a night with your friends while enjoying a great game! Thirty dollars per seat at

Salmon Release
Up to eight students and at least two parent chaperone/drivers will meet Mr. Halstead at
Kelsey Creek Park to release our Bennett Salmon fry into Kelsey Creek. Each child will release
some Salmon and become an important part of the rehabilitation of our Salmon population.
After school, on a mutually agreed upon date in late May or early June, 2013.

Winter's Lake Getaway

French Raclette Dinner for 6
The Raclette is a typical French dish from the mountains, more particularly from the Alps.
Each guest will melt their “Raclette” cheese in a little pan and they will then cover some
potatoes with the cheese and enjoy with French and Italian Charcuterie (white ham,
prosciutto, dry salami, etc), pickles and green salad. A nice dry white wine usually goes
perfectly with this winter dish. It's fun, original and very good, you'll have a great time with
your guests! We'll be happy to invite you and your friends (for 6 people) to our home for a
Raclette dinner this winter and enjoy this yummy French dish after tasting some typical
French appetizers.

Weekend in Mountain Cabin
Treat yourself to a mountain getaway, located in the hills above Lake Cle Elum and within
minutes of Suncadia Resort, near Roslyn. This quaint mountain cabin offers a peaceful
escape. A trail leads to hundreds of acres of wilderness right out the front door. Anything
from deer, turkey, and coyotes can be seen out the windows. During the winter there are

Fund-a-Need
Raise your paddle to upgrade Bennett’s Emergency Preparedness.
In the event of an earthquake, gas leak, fire or other such event Bennett needs to be
prepared to evacuate, shelter and take care of our kids for up to 12 hours, or until parents
can be reunited with their children. Currently Bennett is under equipped for such a situation.
Please help our PTSA purchase shelters and whatever else may be needed so that we can
count on our staff to keep our children safe, warm and cared for while we make our way to
them.

Seahawks football signed by Richard Sherman

case, signed by none other than # 25, Richard Sherman, Cornerback for the Seattle
Seahawks and Superbowl Champion. A great role model for your Bulldog, Richard Sherman
is not only an outstanding athlete but also achieved a 4.2 grade point average in High School
and was the first person in 20 years to qualify to attend Stanford University on both
academic and athletic merit. He graduated Stanford with a degree in Communications and a
3.9 grade point average. He is passionate both on the football field and off, and provides
children with the tools necessary to get an education through his foundation, Blanket
