Worship is the heart of our community at Oak Bay United Church. We are a community eager to share God’s hospitality- a hospitality that embraces you regardless of age or culture, marital status or sexual orientation, the state of your bank book or the state of your faith. PowerPoint is used to guide our congregation through the flow of the service. To participate in the service today please watch the screens which face the congregation. The congregation reads the parts in bold. You will be invited to rise (in body or spirit) during some of our singing together. Welcome! Music We seek to have music that is relevant to the theme of worship. Generally, worship includes a wide range of music styles and instrumentation. All Ages We welcome and embrace the diverse ways that all people of all ages experience worship – whether sitting quietly, moving around, asking questions, wondering aloud... Each person, children and youth included, has their own relationship and experience of God, to be honoured and nurtured. To our younger members and guests, especially (and their adults who may wonder about ‘proper’ behaviour in church), we welcome and appreciate dynamic engagement. To everyone joining in worship this morning – whether this is your home church or your first time – please do what you need to do to feel comfortable and at ease, caring for yourself, each other, and this sacred space while gathered together. Acorn Nursery We have a self-directed Nursery space that is age appropriate for Babies and Toddlers to enjoy with their adult or caregiver. It is located to the right of the chancel (stage). Please know that nursing is welcome anywhere at our church. Greeters and ushers are members of our Welcoming Team. They sit by the doors at the back of the sanctuary (our worship space). They are available to answer any questions or to receive any feedback that you might have, at any point before, during, or after worship. Connect We’d love for you to fill in a “contact card” so we can let you know about congregational events, special celebrations, etc. Contact Cards are located in the narthex (foyer) on a small table. After completing the card, you may leave it on the small table, or give it to one of our Greeters. WASHROOMS are downstairs, in the Community Hall, right beneath the Sanctuary. Stairs are located at the back of the Narthex (foyer) and at the front right of the Sanctuary. This Week at Oak Bay: February 1, 2015 SUNDAY, February 1 10:00 am Worship Service led by Rev.
