ETSU Renaissance Teen Camps 1. Computer Camp for Teens June 8-12 ETSU professor James Livingston guides campers as they discover visual effect techniques through the use of videography, green screen compositing, and effects compositing. Students assemble their effects clips as a digital presentation for parents on the last day! 2. Teen Media Camp June 15-19 This camp is designed to teach campers who are interested in media production the basics of video production, TV studio production, and radio. They will gain hands-on experience in the ETSU RTVF facility and take a field trip to a local television studio. 3. Renaissance Engineering Camp June 22-26 Participants build and launch their own hydro rocket, design roller coasters, and work with Robotics to explore the laws of physics and investigate the world of engineering. They will take a field trip to visit Wonder Works in Pigeon Forge, TN.Art, Music, Drama 4. Art, Music and Drama July 6-17 Two weeks Campers will collaborate in writing, staging and performing an original play. They will receive instruction in some of the basic acting techniques. The campers will design the sets and costumes, and choreograph dance routines for their play. They will present their play to their family and friends at the end of the camp. Also included will be a trip to Barter Theater in Abingdon, VA. Campers will present their play on Thursday, July 16, and will strike set, clean up, and have a cast party on Friday. Field Trip to see Mary Poppins at Barter Theater 5. Renaissance Teen Science and Forensics Camp July 20-24 Participants in this camp will receive an introduction to some of the scientific testing and techniques used in the world of forensic science. They will learn how to analyze blood types, extract DNA and create a model of a cell. They will take part in a variety of other science experiments as well. Participants will also learn about gathering evidence as they investigate a mock crime scene. Activities will be led by the Renaissance Camp staff with special presentations by local law enforcement agencies and members of the ETSU faculty. They will also visit the American Museum of Atomic Energy in Oak Ridge, TN. 6. Outdoor Adventure Camp for Teens – New July 27-31 Extreme sports not for the weak of heart! Our staff members, Tony Pustina, and Alexandra Goudreau will lead the activities of biking, zip-lining, white-water rafting, and hiking throughout the week!
