Valley of the Sun Tour
(Tentative schedule is Monday 9:30 am to 4:30 pm)
Get to know the Phoenix area, there is lots to learn about this area. This tour will include the past
and present of the Metropolitan Phoenix area. The professional guide will make this tour
interesting, entertaining and educational. A must do if you have never been. From Mesa Spirit RV
Resort we will head for downtown Phoenix area which will include newer and older buildings such
as: Chase Field (Diamondbacks), U.S. Airways Center, (Suns), Federal Court House, Arizona
Center and to the State Capitol. Once at the Capitol building there will be brief stop to stretch your
legs before we continue to Scottsdale. Old Town Scottsdale is our next stop where there will be
time for lunch (on your own) at the many restaurants that line the streets. Also, there will be plenty
of time to browse the many galleries, boutiques, and artisan craft stores in the area. After lunch,
we will depart for Tempe, known for being the home of Arizona State University, Sun Devil
Stadium and Gammage Auditorium (by Frank Lloyd Wright) and Tempe Town Lakes, and the
Light Rail as well. Participation must be 30 persons minimum.
Canyon Lake Scenic Boat Cruise
(Tentative schedule is Tuesday 9:30 am to 5:00 pm)
Nestled in the heart of the Superstition Mountains lies spectacular Canyon Lake; home of the
Dolly Steamboat. Continuing a tradition of cruising since 1925, the Dolly Steamboat now cruises
the secluded inner waterways of this beautiful lake. Explore a favorite destination of President
Theodore Roosevelt who declared, “the Apache Trail and surrounding area combines the
grandeur of the Alps, the glory of the Rockies, the magnificence of the Grand Canyon and then
adds an indefinable something that none of the others have.” You will marvel as you travel up the
historic Apache Trail in the Tonto National Forest, which provides the most awe-inspiring and
sublimely beautiful panorama nature has ever created. Every trip brings new revelations of rock
formations, geological history and the flora and fauna distinct to the Sonoran Desert and Arizona’s
first historic highway, the Apache Trail. The photo opportunities are terrific! There is a restaurant at
the facility for those who wish to purchase lunch. Participation must be 30 persons minimum.
Organ Stop Pizza
Home of the Mighty Wurlitzer
Mid-Day Lunch Cultural/Family Outing
(All you can eat pizza)
(Tentative schedule is Wednesday 10:30 am to 2:30 pm)
Organ Stop Pizza and its Mighty Wurlitzer Organ have come to be known as the biggest and best
in the world as attested to by many of the world’s finest theater organists and, more importantly,
the hundreds of thousands of patrons who visit each year. Organ Stop’s Wurlitzer theatre organ
was built for the Denver Theatre and was installed in 1927. The organ was used regularly until the
early 1930s. With the advent of the talking picture and the 1930s depression, the organ was rarely
heard. It was silenced when a fire in the auditorium caused extensive damage to the organ’s
relay. In the theatre, the organ was a style 260, having a three-manual console and 15 ranks/sets
of pipes. Organ Stop purchased the instrument in the early 1970s and undertook the mammoth
task of rebuilding the instrument. Several additions were made to the instrument by acquiring
parts from other ill-fated Wurlitzers. The resulting 23 rank organ was installed in our original
facility in 1975. Participation must be 50 persons minimum.

Planned Events
Entertainment: “Motown - We’ll Be Dancing in The Streets” Lip Sync Showcase, we will showcase the
talent of our members, during the 2015 NAARVA National Camp Rally. On a night of entertainment
to include music, dancing and NAARVA’s first Lip Sync showcase, you are invited to bring your best to
the NAARVA stage. Each region has an opportunity to register a Motown era group to represent your
region in a Lip Sync presentation. Regional Directors and Club Presidents are encouraged to spread
the word. Groups can be composed of members from more than one club, but all group members
must be from the same Region (i.e. The Supremes can be three members from three different clubs,
but within the same region) Members-at-large are also encouraged to participate. This is really going
to be a fun, exciting and entertaining opportunity for the ‘Star’ within you... so bring on your talent.
You will have to pre-register for this event and space is limited to no more than two acts per region.
Your Lip Sync application is in this rally registration packet.

chair). The team consists of 12 players at a time, a coach, and a score keeper within each region. The
selection of the individuals will be made by the Regional Director and/or Club Presidents from each region. It
