Meeting called to order at 6:45 pm by
Chairman D Amundson. Members present:

Chairman D Amundson made a call
for nominations for the 2015 officers.
Meidl nominated D Amundson as
Chairperson; Jill Beuckens as Vice Chair;
and Chuck Meidl as Clerk/Treasuer. Motion to Martineau, seconded by Beuckens
that all nominations cease. MCU Motion

a unanimous ballot for the above offices.

The Grant County Board of Commissioners met in Regular Session January 6,
2015 at Elbow Lake, MN. Chairman Schneeberger called the meeting to order at 9:00
a.m., with the following members present:
Keith Swanson, Bill LaValley, Todd Schneeberger, Pete Hoff and Vernell Wagner. Others
present: Chris Ray-Grant County Herald and
Dwight Walvatne.
Those in attendance recited the
Pledge of Allegiance.
The oath of office was administered to
Commissioners LaValley and Hoff as well as
Sheriff Walvatne.
Chairman Schneeberger called for
nominations for 2015 Chair and Vice Chair.
A motion was made by Wagner seconded by Hoff and carried to nominate Commissioner Swanson as Board Chair for 2015.
A motion was made by Schneeberger
seconded by LaValley and carried to nominate Commissioner Wagner as Board ViceChair for 2015.
A motion was made by LaValley seconded by Schneeberger and carried to approve the meeting agenda.
A motion was made by Wagner seconded by Schneeberger and carried to approve the December 16, 2014 minutes.
A motion was made by Hoff seconded
by LaValley and carried to set the Commissioners meeting dates as the first and third
Tuesday of each month.
The Auditor reminded the County
Board of the orders for repair and redetermination that need to be signed. The County
Attorney has not yet received the revised order from the viewers. Upon its receipt and
approval the Board Chair will sign them.
A motion was made by LaValley seconded by Schneeberger and carried to approve payment of the following dues for 2015
as presented: AMC $ 5,621.00, AMC – Public Health $ 597.00, AMC – Social Services $
646.00, Lake Country Service Coop $ 250.00,
MN County Attorney’s Assoc $ 1,399.00 and
NACO $ 450.00.
A motion was made by Wagner seconded by Hoff and carried approving the following financial institutions for depositories
of Grant County funds in 2015: Bank of the
West, Eagle Bank, Star Bank, Kensington
Bank, Farmers State Bank of Hoffman, First
State Bank of Ashby, Minnesota Association of Counties Investing in Government
(M.A.G.I.C.), Wells Fargo, Wells Fargo Advisors and UBS Financial Services.
A motion was made by Hoff seconded
by LaValley and carried to approve the 2015
holiday schedule as prepared by the Auditor.
Bids were received for publishing the
proceedings of the Board, Delinquent Tax
List, Board of Equalization proceedings and
all other notices and reports, the publication
of which is necessary by law, or authorized by
the Board of Commissioners, as follows:

PUBLIC NOTICE
A motion was made by Schneeberger
seconded by Hoff and carried to name the
Grant County Herald as the Official Newspaper for Grant County and to accept the low
bid from the Grant County Herald for publishing the proceedings of the Board, Delinquent
Tax List, Board of Equalization proceedings
and all other notices and reports, the publication of which is necessary by law, or authorized by the Board of Commissioners and for
printing and inserting of the annual financial
statements.
Missy Becker-Cook of West Central
MN Communities Action presented the 2015
calendar/2014 annual report and agency update to the County Board.
Troy Langlie presented an estimate from LETG for civil process management software, installation and training for
$6,600.00
A motion was made by Schneeberger
seconded by LaValley to authorize the purchase of the software from LETG from the
Civil Process budget.
Jim Standish presented various recycling contracts and proposals for approval.
A motion was made by Wagner seconded by LaValley and carried to approve
the Grant County DAC recycling contract and
license for 2015.
A motion was made by Schneeberger
seconded by LaValley and carried to approve
the East Side Oil recycling contract and license for 2015.
A motion was made by LaValley seconded by Schneeberger and carried to approve the West Central Sanitation appliance
and metal recycling contract for 2015.
A motion was made by Schneeberger
seconded by Wagner and carried to approve
a $8 donation to the Dare program.
A motion was made by LaValley seconded by Schneeberger and carried to approve the 2014 per diems for Ronald Woltjer
and Tom Amundson.
A motion was made by Hoff seconded
by LaValley and carried to approve the committee assignments for 2015. A complete list
of the committee assignments is available at
the Auditor’s Office.
A committee to look into the Sheriffs
Dept staffing and budget was formed to include Commissioner Swanson, Commissioner Schneeberger, Chad Biss, Greg Lillemon,
Dwight Walvatne and Troy Langlie.
There being no further business, the
Chairman adjourned at 12:09 p.m.
