A note (in part) to Fr. Charlie:
With your kindness and through the generosity of your
parishioners, the sales of the olive wood carvings received a
total amount of $9415. Please remember that you and the
members of your Parish are included in our prayers.
Thank you for your support in helping us and our brothers
and sisters in Christ with compassion, dignity and respect.

charities including Community Kitchen & Catholic
Charities. A collection box will be in the outer

YOUR INPUT IS NEEDED
for St Jude School Survey
by November 6
As the diocese begins to prepare for district
accreditation with AdvancED and maintains a strong
commitment to improve system practices, each
school in the diocese will be conducting a series of
surveys. The purpose of this survey is to find out
your opinions about our school. Your responses will
be completely confidential. The web survey will be
available until November 6, 2015. In order to
complete the survey, please go to:
http://www.advanc-ed.org/survey/public/6054704

school Computer Lab will be available for use before,
during and after school. Additionally, the Computer
Lab will be open after the 5:30 Mass on Sat, Oct 31 &
after 8:00, 10:30 and 12:15 Masses on Sun Nov 1st.
SYMBOLON
Symbolon continues to meet Tues at 7:00pm and
Thurs at 10:00am in the Parish Life Center. This
week’s topic is “Why do I need the Church?” All are
invited to join us at any time. The last session will be
Nov 19.
On Sat, Nov 7 at 11:00 am, we will
celebrate a Mass of Remembrance
for all parishioners who lost loved
ones this past year. If you did not
receive an invitation by mail to
this special Mass and luncheon, you are nevertheless
warmly invited to participate. Please RSVP to
parish office by Nov. 4. If you would like to bring a
dish to share for the luncheon, call Kyra Ross at 8702386.
ARE YOU CURIOUS
ABOUT THE CATHOLIC CHURCH?
November 11 and 18
Do you know someone who might be
interested in learning more about, or has
a desire to join, the Catholic Church?
Perhaps that someone could be you.
The St. Jude Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
(RCIA) team will be hosting two additional Come and
See Inquiry sessions on Wednesday on November
11th and 18th. These gatherings will be informal
discussion and show-and-tell sessions centered on
the Catholic faith, and the questions and comments
that arise from within the group. Each night will
cover different topics, so please plan on attending
both. The session on the 11th will cover the Mass,
and the session on the 18th will be on Prayer.
We will start at 7:00 pm, except for the session on
November 11th which will start at 6:45. Each session
will last a little over an hour-and-a-half. We will
meet in the big room in the Parish Life Center.
If your schedule prevents you from attending these
sessions, please contact us to make arrangement to
meet with a member of the RCIA team at a time
when it is convenient for you.
There is no obligation to join the Church; just come
and see. For those interested, the formal preparation
to enter fully into the Catholic Church will begin in
the weeks following. For more information, please
contact the parish office at 423-870-2386, or contact
the RCIA Coordinator, Butch Feldhaus, at
[email protected].

ST JUDE SCHOOL UPDATES
We are so thankful
1) For our parish, who helped us celebrate 55 years of
School Excellence, 2) for our parishioners, who with
their participation alone collected Box Top labels
worth $186.00, 3) for our students, who collected
much needed pantry items for Catholic Charities and
4) for our parents, who do so much around our
school - most recently those who participated in a
"gardening" day, Mr. Danberry, who hung a TV in
our main hallway, Mr. Bramwell, who worked on
several projects in the 3/4 grade building and Mr.
Quernemoen, who built two beautiful benches for
our upcoming Fine Arts Festival!
HELP NEEDED WITH WEB SITE
If you can help with updating and maintaining our
web site, please contact Tom Picard in the parish
office.
HOSPITAL HOSPITALITY
Each month, a group or family agrees to buy
packaged, single-portioned snacks and drop them off
on Wednesday mornings at the Memorial Hixson ER.
If your family or ministry group would like to
participate for a single week or an entire month, call
Claire at 875-2481.
You may wish to take advantage of our parish
nursery for infants through 5-year-olds during the
10:30am Sunday Mass. The nursery is located in the
Parish Life Center basement, is staffed by volunteer
parents, and is safe and fun!
Once older children begin coming to Mass, please
encourage them to participate in the Children’s
Liturgy of the Word, also held during the 10:30am
Sunday Mass. This is an age-appropriate
opportunity for 5- to 12-year-olds to listen to the
day’s readings and learn with their friends how to
live out the Gospel message. The children are
dismissed from the sanctuary just before the first
reading and return after the homily. Parents are
always welcome to accompany their children to the
Parish Library for the Children’s Liturgy.
If you would like to learn more about either of these
ministries, or would like to volunteer, please contact
Kyra Ross in the parish office - 870-2386.

THANKSGIVING MEALS
FOR NEEDY FAMILIES
Catholic Charities will be
providing Thanksgiving meals to needy families. A
donation of $25 will feed a family of four. If you can
help, please send a check to Catholic Charities at 859
McCallie Ave, Chattanooga 37403 and designate it to
Thanksgiving Meals. We all know how special the
holidays are, and being able to provide a family with
the pleasure of a full Thanksgiving meal is such an
honor and a blessing. Over 300 people received
meals in 2014. In this time of Thanksgiving we are
truly thankful for your generosity.

gustos y deseos si quieren vivir juntas felizmente”.
Quien no ama se autoexcluye de quienes le tratan y
tampoco será amado por Dios.
No habrá armonía entre nosotros si no existe una
reserva de renuncia y comunión que sacrifique
nuestras opiniones y gustos en aras de la unidad. No
