En el domingo de la Solemnidad de Nuestro Señor Jesucristo Rey del Universo, el Papa Francisco rezó el Ángelus dominical en la Plaza de san Pedro junto a los fieles y peregrinos llegados de diversas partes del mundo. MAÑANITAS A LA VIRGEN DE GUADALUPE Sábado, 12 de diciembre Reflexionando sobre el Evangelio del día que nos hace contemplar a Jesús mientras se presenta a Pilatos como rey de un reino “que no es de este mundo”, el pontífice recalcó que se trata de una contraposición entre dos lógicas, aquella mundana y aquella evangélica, la de Jesús, que se expresa en la humildad y en la gratuidad. “Jesús se reveló Rey en el evento de la Cruz” y quien mira la Cruz de Cristo, dijo Francisco, “no puede no ver la sorprendente gratuidad del amor”. Un amor que permanece sólido y firme aun ante el rechazo y que es el cumplimiento de una vida pasada en el total ofrecimiento de sí en favor de la humanidad. La fuerza del reino de Cristo es el amor y es por ese motivo que la realeza de Jesús no nos oprime sino que nos libera de nuestras debilidades y miserias, animándonos a ir por los caminos del bien, de la reconciliación y del perdón. “Cristo es un rey que no domina sino que nos eleva a su dignidad y esto significa, servir a Dios y a los hermanos”. BAPTISM PREPARATION FOR INFANTS: Parents are asked to register their child for Baptism, to bring a copy of the child’s birth certificate to the parish office, and to attend a pre-Baptism class. Godparents are encouraged to attend class. Godparents must be at least sixteen years of age, practicing Catholics, Confirmed, and if married, married through the Church. WEEKLY READINGS Classes are offered the first Friday of every other month, 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. in the Family Life Center. Parents are kindly asked not to bring their children to the class. Certificates of attendance for the baptism preparation are provided at the end of the class for those who are not baptizing at St. Theresa Church.
