Faith Formation Program
Advent:
Advent is not the same as Christmas. Advent is a time to praise God for his great gift of his
Son, Jesus. It is a time to think about how ready we are to receive Jesus whenever he comes to us: in those
who are in need; in the Eucharist at Mass; and at the end of time to prepare our hearts and souls to celebrate
the birthday of the Messiah.
There are four weeks in Advent. The First Sunday of Advent is a good time to talk with your child about
how important it is to prepare to receive Jesus. Before you begin decorating and shopping and
partying, talk with your child about the things you and your family can do to observe the weeks
of Advent.
We wish you a holy Advent and a Blessed Christmas Season. Sincerely in Christ

PRAYER FOR THE YEAR OF
CONSECRATED LIFE
Father you call each one of us by name and ask us
to follow you. Bless your church by raising up dedicated
and generous leaders from our families and friends who
will serve your people as Priests, Brothers, Deacons, Sisters and Lay Ministers. Inspire us as we grow to know
you, and open our hearts to hear your call. We ask this
through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Pro Life Corner
"The promotion of the culture of life
should be the highest priority in our
societies...If the right to life is not defended decisively as a condition for all
other rights of the person, all other references to human
rights remain deceitful and illusory."
Pope John Paul II
St. Bernard’s Parish
St. Bernard’s Parish and many other Parishes in Tracy

to Tracy Interfaith or to the Parish Office.
Items urgently needed at this time are,
blankets, jackets, shampoo, toothpaste, tuna,
pasta, and peanut butter. If you are able to
donate items in bulk, they will gladly accept
them as they will be distributed in smaller containers.

Imagine how many people we would be helping to have a more blessed Christmas if each
family donated just one item! What an awesome gift that would be…
