PRAYING
FOR OUR BELOVED DEAD
All Soul’s Day is Monday, Nov 2nd. During the
month of November we will pray for the souls of all
our Beloved Dead at all Masses. At the masses on the
weekend of Oct. 31/Nov. 1 we will also read their
names. Please inscribe the names of the beloved
dead who passed away within the past year
(November 2014 to October 2015) in the notebook
located by the front entrance to the church
by Monday October 26th.

REFLECTIONS:
on Pope Francis’ US Visit:
http://www.theatlantic.com/notes/all/2015/09/pope-francis-visit-to-the-us/404983/
graphic: Wikimedia
Father Kevin spoke of this painting last
Sunday, some of us may not be familiar with
the painting - here it is: “Since Francis’
introduction of a reproduction of [a
painting called “Mary, Untier of
Knots”] in Buenos Aires, it has grown in
popularity in South America, with the
faithful praying in front of it for Mary to
“untie the knots” in their own lives. What
strikes me about it is how undoing knots conveys a
way of being in the world. It begins with a recognition
that life isn’t easy, that a smooth and linear path is rarely
given to us, that challenges keep presenting themselves. It
is not so much the over-coming of these challenges that
defines us, but the manner in which we tackle them.”
Please PRAY the Rosary
She tucked her rosary beads into my hand
and suggested we pray. Sitting quietly, our
voices united with a sense of urgency. “Hail
Mary, full of grace.” We trusted that in her
compassion, she would intercede for us and
envelope us in her grace and the peace we
desperately needed. The beads—they rolled
through my fingers and centered my mind.
Holy Mary, pray for us sinners now and at the
hour of our death.” - Jennifer Hubbard
