May 3, 2015 WHAT`S IN YOUR HEART?

May 3, 2015
5th Sunday of Easter
1883-2015
Lord as you enter my
body please cleanse me
from all my sins. Teach
me to become as pure as
You and Your Mother
Mary. I pray that I become
a better person and be
kinder to my neighbors.
May Your presence in me
make me a better person
and do whatever is only in
Your will. I pray that all my
loved ones live in Your
presence and that they
always do what is right. I
pray for the world to have
peace especially in their
hearts. I pray this for Your
glory Lord. Amen.

WHAT’S IN YOUR HEART?
What does it mean to do something in the name of someone? You represent them, act
on their behalf, maybe invoke their authority. In the Acts of the Apostles we hear
Saint Paul speaking out “boldly in the name of Jesus,” and the First Letter of John
says “we should believe in the name of [God’]s Son, Jesus Christ.” What’s implied
when we believe in and speak in the name of Jesus? Do Christ’s “words remain in
you?” Do you “love not in word or speech but in deed and truth?”
WHERE WE LIVE, SERVE,
& WALK TOGETHER IN FAITH.
ST. JOSEPH’S
PAG E TW O
FROM THE PASTOR
My Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Although I can barely believe May has arrived I gotta tell you that I
look forward to this time every year. In spite of the seasonal allergies
that plague me and so many, the joy of First Holy Communions
makes up for it all. I love talking to the little ones as they made their
First Reconciliation and now, observing their excitement as they approach the “grownups” table for the first time. Finally, after all those
years of their young lives, they don’t have to be shuttled aside as
mom and dad presented themselves for communion. Now, it’s their
turn to receive our Lord Jesus in the Eucharist and it’s all good!
What’s even better is for all of you parents and grandparents, big
brothers and big sisters, to continue being the best examples possible
to these newbies to the Sacrament. Let them see in you the same excitement and deep faith in the Real Presence of Jesus – his Body and
Blood under the appearances of bread and wine. Let them see consistency in how you live your lives, always striving to be as Jesus
would be. What a great gift to give to these youngsters…and to yourself as we grow closer in our relationship with Jesus, the One who
loves us so.
This week we are proud to welcome the leadership of PTAs from all
around our diocese as they come together for their annual Spring
Conference. Also, this Friday is our Annual Century Club Gala
event. Thank you to all who have supported this great scholarship
endeavor in any way.
God bless you all!
Fr. Scott
God calls you to make definitive choices, and He
has a plan for each of you: To discover that plan
and to respond to your vocation is to move toward
personal fulfillment.

THE ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL — IN ACTION (Bishop’s Annual Appeal)
Pastoral Care
Rooted in the Gospel invitation to share in the healing mission of Jesus Christ, we advance the compassionate and
competent spiritual, pastoral and sacramental care of God’s suffering people by resourcing the clergy, pastoral ministers, healthcare professionals and caregivers who serve them. Those who offer pastoral care communicate God’s love
and compassion ‘person-to-person’ by offering spiritual and sacramental support, including the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick offered by a priest. We connect with healthcare institutions, medical professionals, chaplains and clergy
by providing extensive consultation and resources for the holistic health and well-being of Catholic patients. Your gift
helps you to live and spread the Gospel.

ST. JOSEPH’S
PAGINA OCHO
MENSAJE DEL PASTOR
Queridos hermanos,
Club.
Dios los bendiga!
